The Trustees of the charity present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31st March 2025. The Trustees have prepared the report and financial statements in accordance with the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) ‘Accounting and reporting by charities’, issued in March 2005.

Structure, Governance and Management

Elshaddai My Helper is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation formed on 5th July 2017 and is currently in active operation.

The charity is controlled by its governing document and by a board of trustees. Trustees are appointed based on the contribution they will make to the organisation's governance and the skills they will bring. They are provided with copies of the Charity Commission’s guidance to Trustees and the constitution.

Objectives, activities, and achievements:

The objectives for which the charity is established, as set out in its governing documents, are:

The relief of poverty and provision of assistance to the adults present with homelessness in Hackney, Stratford and in Nigeria:

Assist with the supply of food, clothing, toiletries, and related items.

Providing assistance and advice to like-minded charity groups.

These objectives are charitable and operate for the public benefit.

Financial Review:

The total income during the financial year 31st March 2025 is £2857.39

Money from surplus in the account £137.18

The total expenditure during the financial year 31st March 2025 is (£ 2994.57).

Donations come from trustee members, friends, and families. In addition to financial donations, trustees’ members and friends also contributed goods (snacks, toiletries, socks, etc.) for the outreach and Christmas presents. Christian Kitchen (CK) also provides starter soup.

• Launching discussion *We agreed that the previously planned date in June is not sustainable because of a lack of meetings caused by various crises among the trustees.

• Revised decision : * To plan for next year, June 2025, we need to hold regular meetings every other month to plan.

• No concern but volunteer shortage, but we manage.

• Will: The driver will not be available for the next 3 months, but Christian Kitchen will provide us with a driver.

Finance

• We are not breakeven financially, but we thank God for the provision and trust God for the preparation for the Launching expenses. In addition, we have some surplus in the account.

GENERAL COMMENT :

• We are happy to meet tonight, but we agree that we need to be consistent.

General update from the Trustees meeting on the 18th of January 2025

Finance:

Balance as @ 16th January 2025 (no outstanding bills): £1810.97.

One-off donation received. [included in the above balance].

Socks [donation received in Nov 2024]. We also have some stocks from previous specific donations.

Safeguarding Report update:

~This has been raised during the CK team leaders' meeting. CK Trustees will update.

Concerns include:

• Lack of a queuing system.

• Volunteers need to know what to do in an emergency when service users are fighting or attempting to fight. Outcome: Following the discussion at CK’s leaders’ meeting, it was decided that one of CK’s trustees will serve as a Peacekeeper. (This works because the Peacekeeper or CK’s representative is an experienced volunteer, and situations are addressed immediately, with no further concern)

Another update: January 2025

B (T) spoke with one of the CEOs of a charity organisation in Hackney to learn how to prepare a bid.

• B (T) to speak to CK about storage.

• B (T) was given the telephone number of a lady to contact in Hackney regarding collaborating.

Feedback from one of the new volunteers: B (V) from Dec outreach :

"A very tough night in the cold today, and people were a lot more restless than last time" Thankfully, more people came than last time to accommodate that. But overall, that commotion was dealt with, and another successful night followed”.

These are the Xmas present that have been put together: 32 in number. They contain gloves, socks, and a winter hat.

Building/Venue:

Walthamstow: The charity does not have its own building; however, we serve service users under the umbrella of Christian Kitchen once a month, using its Mobile van and Church Hall to prepare, and one of the trustees' houses to pack the variety’s bags. The CK volunteer and co-ordinator prepare the soup.

Stratford: Suspended.

Trustees' Responsibilities : Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report, discussing any concerns, reviewing the financial statements, and maintaining proper accounting records.
