WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD Welcome to Dost�s Ann�al Report for 2021-22. These ha�e been e�ceptionall� to�gh �ears for �o�ng people in London, �ith ongoing disr�ptions to ed�cation and other aspects of normal life; and no� the e�traordinar� press�res of the cost of li�ing crisis. For �o�ng ref�gees, times ha�e been e�en harder.
International conflict and press�res contin�e to dri�e �naccompanied �o�ng people to seek ref�ge; �hile an e�er harsher political climate limits their options and the s�pport the� can e�pect. In this climate, �e as Tr�stees are h�gel� gratef�l to Marian and the dedicated team at Dost, for pro�iding constant s�pport, �eek in, �eek o�t for those �o�ng people, dra�n from man� nations and backgro�nds, and all offered the opport�nit� to learn, to socialise, and to begin to b�ild their confidence, skills and net�orks for life in the UK.
In this report, �o� �ill get a fla�o�r of the range of acti�ities �e offer, and partnerships �e enjo�. The �o�ng people choose to come to Dost, and often introd�ce their friends and relati�es to join sessions. Children's Ser�ices, schools and carers look to Marian and the team to pro�ide essential s�pport and g�idance for the �o�ng people - and gi�e them the chance to ha�e f�n, pla� sport, make ne� friends, and progress in ed�cation �ith ne� skills. As a gro�p of Tr�stees, �e are �er� pro�d of the impact Marian and the team make, as reflected in this report. We are also e�tremel� gratef�l to all the f�nders and partners �ho s�pport o�r �ork. And of co�rse also thankf�l to the �o�ng people for their participation, their tr�st and their h�ge contrib�tion to making Dost �hat it is. The �o�ng people dictate e�er�thing �e do at Dost and the� are the heart and so�l of Dost and �e aim to incl�de them at e�er� stage. The staff and �ol�nteers are not too bad either! This �ear �e emplo�ed a Mentoring Lead, - Le�; to r�n a Mentoring Project for the �o�ng people at Dost, �hich pro�ides �et another ser�ice for them and gi�es them long-term one-to-one s�pport �hen req�ired."

## CHARITY STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE
The Tr�s�ees confirm �ha� �he� ha�e referred �o �he G�idance con�ained in �he Chari�� Commissions' general g�idance on p�blic benefi� �hen re�ie�ing �he Chari��'s aims and objec�i�es and in planning all f���re ac�i�i�ies.
Dos� is a Chari�able Incorpora�ed Organisa�ion (CIO) and o�r go�erning doc�men� is based on �he Chari�� Commission�s model Cons�i���ion for a CIO �hose onl� �o�ing members are i�s' Tr�s�ees.
We recei�ed o�r independen� chari�� regis�ra�ion and appro�al for �his go�erning doc�men� in A�g�s� 2017.
In line �i�h �he model cons�i���ion, �e can ha�e a ma�im�m of 12 �r�s�ees, all of �hom m�s� be o�er 16 �ears of age.
For �he period co�ered b� �he 2021-20212 Ann�al Repor�, �e had 7 Tr�s�ees.

"It's the best place to be in, to be honest, �ou have a lot of fun, �ou feel safe, �ou get treated like a famil� and �ou get to see one of the best people and the funniest (Marian). Dost reall� changed m� life, it gave me a lot of opportunities, confidence, fun times and a lot more. Without Dost I wouldn't been where I'm now and I wouldn't do all the things, through the past 4 �ears. I'm so glad to meet such a wonderful woman as �ou Marian and I'm ver� thankful for Dost for making m� life better.
I wish I came to all the trips but unfortunatel�, I was bus� with work, however even though I went to a few I reall� enjo�ed them, �our trips Marian, never disappoint and I know how hard for �ou to control and to be honest I don't know how �ou manage to do all this but it's impressive and �ou do it because �ou love it and �ou want others to have fun. I hope I can come for the upcoming trips because I enjo� each trip with �ou, an�wa�s keep up the hard work and I love �ou. "

"It was m� first time going to cinema and I reall� enjo�ed it because it was fun and gave me the opportunit� to meet new people. The food was ver� delicious, and the movie was a banger. Our Charit� insurance provides Trustee Indemnit� cover against e�ecutive risks to the sum of �250,000.
Our reserves at �ear end were �73,418 of which �16,908 were restricted and �56,510 were unrestricted.
Dost's reserves polic� balances the need to build up long term reserves against the need for short term spending on core activities.
The Charit�'s reserves e�ist to provide short term protection against downward fluctuations in annual revenues.
