## _**Objectives and Activities**_ 

_The aims of the Pre- School is to provide a happy, caring, stimulating, safe environment that enhances the development and education of pre-school children in Wales by supporting and encouraging our families to understand and provide for their needs through high quality preschool provision and childcare._ 

_The main purpose of the charity is to provide high quality childcare to the local community and surrounding areas. The main aim of the pre-school is to enhance child development and to support our parents/carers in providing for the needs of their children. We do this by:_ 

- _Offering a rich and stimulating environment for play and education._ 

- _Working closely with multi agency teams such as health visitors, speech and language, The Early help team, Children’s social services team._ 

- _Providing children with real authentic experiences that they may not have at home, such as trips out into the community, welcoming artists, musicians, and members of our local community in to work along side the children._

## _**Summery of the main achievements of the Charity during the year**_ 

_We have had an incredibly busy and successful. We have come together as a team to plan and design our new setting that is so close to being ready. We are taking our existing stimulating and happy learning environment with us when we move and putting our own creative stamp on it by listening to the voices of the children, staff and families. We have continued to offer rich, authentic experiences to the children always following their lead in the pursuit of their own interests._ 

_In January we employed Amie Evans our Business Manager. Amie’s experience, passion and drive will aid our goal of becoming a community-based setting. Amie is extremely passionate about Early Years education and has so much to offer from a curiosity, Reggio Emilia and outdoor learning background. Amie has already opened up doors for our families by providing free Paediatric First Aid and Makaton sessions, and has created a number of community partnerships in the small amount of time she has been with us. The next twelve months are looking extremely exciting for the children and families within the setting._ 

_Though there has been many delays with our new purpose built nursery, our move is imminent and we will be opening the doors for the start of the new term in September. We are delighted that Mark Drakeford has agreed to attend and officially open the building for us. The children have thoroughly enjoyed being able to witness the building arriving and all of the diggers busy working to get it all ready for us._ 




_The setting continues to offer up to 19 spaces for two hours funded childcare with wrap around care in place for the remainder of the day. Amie is managing both the Pre-School and a Flying Start provision. Over the next two months these will be combined into one setting offering up to 35 children. We are just awaiting a visit from CIW in the building to complete this application._

_As a setting our hope and goal is that all children attending Enfys Fach will eventually move on to School as:_

_Achieving this by focusing on the 3 E’S:_ 

_Enabling Adults_ 

_Engaging Experiences Effective Environments_ 

_When asked where their favourite place to play is, the majority of children reply with the outdoors. We are going to really focus on creating an equally inviting outdoor space in our new setting. Amie has taught forest school with young children and is excited to share her ideas and expertise with the staff and children. We will be able to continue using the Priory School outdoor area and forest school when we have moved, this along with the Priory Groves woodland area will enhance our outdoor learning and upskill the staff and families in the benefits of being outdoors and the limitless opportunities for learning and development whilst being in natural surroundings and exploring the world around us._ 

_We have introduced an app as a way of communicating everything with our families, from our registers, daily diaries to invoicing. This has dramatically reduced our paper trail and feedback from staff and families has been really positive. We have received wonderful feedback from parent and child questionnaires along with setting reports from our Early Years advisory teacher Natalie._ 

_There are so many exciting times ahead. The new building will provide so many new opportunities to not only expand the space in which we can provide childcare but to enhance those experiences that we are able to provide to the children, staff, families and surrounding community._

## _**Current priorities this year include:**_ 

- _Increase the amount of incidental Welsh within the setting, upskill staff in their welsh speaking abilities._ 

- _Ensure the move into our new building is smooth and successful by working with wide team of builders, project managers, Flying start and Staff to create the vision we have all worked so hard to plan._ 

- _Continue to explore the new curriculum for non-maintained settings in Wales in order to understand pedagogies linked to our values and aims._ 

## _**Financial Review**_ 

_At the end of August 2023 our current balance stands at £8,296.39_ 

## _**Further Financial information**_ 

_Enfys Fach 3+ setting receives funding from the local authority to cover the 3 & 4 year olds provision. Funding for sessions beyond 11:00 am is funded by the Childcare offer Wales or paid separately as wrap around care at £5 an hour by the parent/carers._

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 August 2023** 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
