## Trustees Annual Report for the year to 30 June 2021
## Aims and Purpose
The purpose of the charity is to provide, or to assist in the provision of, recreation and other leisure time pursuits for those in care and to involve families and friends of those in care in the provision of such activities.
## Objectives and Activities
The objective of the charity is to improve the quality of life of those in care.
The Friends provide events every weekend, inside and outside of care homes. We support the lonely, isolated and our senior citizens, we also support families living and dealing with Alzheimer's and Dementia on a weekly basis. These events include live entertainers, simple memory games, singalongs and light refreshments.
The Friends events take place at the Weekends when often families and friends do not have work commitments that prevent them from helping and enjoying the events together with their loved ones and family members. During the Covid 19 Pandemic, the Friends had restricted entry into Care Homes.
However, the Friends have two outside events, which take place in halls and whenever Covid allowed, we continued to put these events at The Clitheroe Centre in South Oxhey on a Saturday Afternoon (known as the C Club). This event has been happening for the last five years. The second outside event takes place in a community hall in Borehamwood Hertfordshire, every Sunday Afternoon. Both events are called 'An Evening Out in the Afternoon'. Table lights and special effects are added to these events which help to create an evening atmosphere, as many seniors are not keen or able to venture out during the evening time. The friends also put on special seasonal events at both of these venues such as a Summer Show and a Pantomime during the Christmas Season.
## Financial Review
Total income in the year was £2,571.41 Expenditure on the charitable activities was £3,564.68
## Reserves Policy
On the basis of the above, the Trustees realise that Covid 19 restrictions reduced the charities income considerably. It is hoped that some substantial sponsorship in the near future will be obtained to ensure that the charity survives.
## Volunteers
The Trustees would like to thank all our volunteers who help to make our events so enjoyable for those in care and their families. In particular, Alice Quick, Val Kilbane, Jo Power, Daphne Stratton, Val Fennegan, Tim Corbett, Keith Handley, Mick Morrell, Mike King, Tim Hart, Jim Forder, Peter and Henry Churchill, Jo Power, Margaret Wiggs, Margaret Javanoski, Jacqui Palmer, Jackie Yahalome, Leanne Waisman, Dilys O'Sullivan, Rita Bennett, Jan & Jon Blackwell, Christine & Ray Baker, Bob Morledge, Salima Dharamsi, Marjorie Wilkins and Stephanie Heaney.
## Structure, Governance and Management
The Trustees manage the charity collectively. There are no staff. Two formal meetings of Trustees were held during the year.
