Nikki Edwell. Christine Elford. Moira Burgess FOUNDER Kevin Baker founded the Charity but is no longer able to actively participate in the charity due to a long term health condition. OVERVIEW The charity continues to operate with day to day administration carried out by Christine Elf ord with the support of Nikki Edwell. Nikki Edwell, Christine Elford and Moira Burgess continue as Trustees. MEMBERSHIP: This year the membership has continued at 9119. D065: Durin9 this year, the Charity has fostered and rehomed 23 West Highland White Terriers or terrier crosses Oscar (14 months). Louie (9 months). Louie (12 years). Alf ie (6 years). Tikka (6 years), Dory (7 years), Poppy (5 years). Teddy (18 months). Toby (6 years). Bella (10 years). Misty (13 Years), Louis (5 years). Alf ie (10 years). Oscar (13 years), Bonnie (8 years), Bailey (6 years), Charlotte (13 years). Luna (4 years). Bertie (18 months). Lucy (12 years), Willow (3 years), kio (9 years). Jock (5 years). We note that the 23 dogs that we have rehomed this year has increased compared to 15 last year. We continue to receive large numbers of application forms f rom across the country and continue to ensure that we inform all applicants that we do not have a dog for everyone so as not to raise expectations. . Westie Rescue UK continues to support all dogs that are adopted through the Charity by covering the medical costs of any ongoing pre-existing condition. This includes dogs with diabetes, skin conditions and ongoing behavioural issues. In this f inancial year we supported dogs in veterinary and behavioural costs amounting to £18,023.46 Registered Charity 1173538 Sadly we have lost 9 WkUK rescues this year: Harley (June 2023), Lenny (September 2023), Archie (October 2023), Wesley (October 2023) Misty (December 2023) Rossi (October 2023) Alf ie (February 2024) Oscar (March 2024), fiannoch (April 2024). All spent their last days in happy and loving homes with amazing f amilies who showed them so much love throughout their f inal years.. VOLUNTEERS. t)ONORS AND FOSTERERS: The charity is indebted to the volunteers who have rescued and fostered dogs, carried out home checks and raised funds. The charity continues to receive support f rom other groups who have helped with home checks and carry out regular westie walks to support Westie Rescue UK and raise f unds. We are very grateful for all of their contributions. We would like to specif ically reco9nize the followin9 foster carers who have taken dogs as a f irst port of call prior to rehoming to the forever homes. as well as providing long term f oster care: Pauline Crook Rebecca and Andrew Loss Kathryn Montague Dianne Hughes Lisa Dugdale The charity also wishes to acknowledge and thank all of the members who have regularly contributed through donation. f undraisers and auctions. FINANCES: The charity bank account is in credit and on 21st June had f unds of £23,920.31 as a result of adoptions. donations. f undraiSin9 and bequests. The charity has been grateful for re9ular contributions f rom Ayr Westie Walkers. As a charity. Gif t Aid opplies. and we are in the process of reclaiming this as the previous method (Donation Manager) is no longer available to us. The charity has been extremely gratef ul f or the bequests received this year. Nikki Bailey has kindly provided support in relation to the Charity Accounts. FUNDRAISING: This takes the form of ongoing activities such (ts: monthly draw annual birthday draw sale of our WRUK Calendar special one-of f auctions/raff les items donated by members of the group for auction or raff le Registered Charity 1173538 Pauline Crook and kebecca Loss have continued the responsibility f or f und raising this year. Pauline and Rebecca continue as admin support for the WRUK Facebook fundraising page, group and Nothin9 Butt Westies. Pauline and Rebecca are a 9reat support in welcoming new members and maintainin9 our online presence and the Trustees are 9ratef ul for their Signif icant contributions. WRUK has three Facebook 9roups: Westie Rescue UK (WRUK) Re9iStered Charity. Westie Rescue UK Fundraising Page and Nothin9 Butt Westies. All have Si9nif icant membership and fulf il different functions.
