Section C Objectives and activities
The relief of those in need as result of having a psychiatric disability by:
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
a) Educating or training persons with a psychiatric disability in the proper and safe use of their psychiatric assistance dog; b) Raising public awareness of psychiatric disabilities and the benefits of assistance dogs to persons with such a disability;
c) Otherwise supporting persons with a psychiatric disability in particular with their ownership and use of an assistance dog with a view to promoting their independence in society.

The benefts are to help anyone with a psychological condition, as mentioned in 3 below, to give them more independence, to lead a better life with less need of the Mental Health and Hospital services. Which will help a signifcantly high proportion of the general public to enter any public space, shops and restaurants and public transport who at present may not be able to use. A secondary beneft will reduce the pressures on the National Health & Mental Health teams by; Helping registered members of pads.foundation to gain independence through the use of their Psychiatric Assistance Dogs and reducing the need for a carer which will not only increases self-esteem and independence but also reduces care-costs. 1Providing education and information to support those with long term mental health issues that require the use of an Psychiatric Assistance Dog; The effect of an impairment is long-term if; 1.1 it has lasted for at least 12 months, 1.2 it is likely to last for at least 12 months, 1.3 it is likely to last for the rest of the life of the person affected; 2Providing access to PADs Foundation training advice appropriate to subscribers needs with minimum training requirements based on the American's with Disabilities Act 2014 (ADA); Dogs need to be able to; 2.1 Be under control of the handler via harness, leash or other tether (if not the assistance dog must be under con- trol by other means such as voice control) 2.2 House trained 2.3 Must remain quiet 2.4 Not interact with other people or dogs 2.5 Must sit, stay, lie down and recall on command; 3Providing a registration scheme/database for those with a diagnosed psychiatric condition such as PTSD, Bipo- lar, Severe Depression, Dissociative states, personality disorders and schizophrenia, with the foundation which is accessible to police and health care service providers with; 3.1 A Bi-annual doctors letter confrming a psychiatric condition as mentioned in 3, 3.2 An annual health check from the Assistance Dog's vet; 4Providing the necessary tabards and ID cards to use when taking their Psychiatric Assistants Dog out in public areas: by a bi-annual letter proving their psychiatric disability and a vet's letter proving their Psychiatric Assistance Dog has an annual health check; 5Providing the option of 3rd party dog insurance to protect PADs users; 6Raising public awareness of the issues affecting those with mental health issues, both generally and in relation to their social exclusion; 7Providing blogs and forums, advocacy and general support; 8.Provide guidance with problems relating to the law; 9To ensure that only two questions may be asked of a PADs user when asked the nature/extent of their disability as per the ADA. 9.1 Is the animal required because of a disability? 9.2 What work or task has the animal be trained for? |

Membership database with 20 plus in training members
Online training guide completed and added to the platform along wiyh worksheets and documents that the in training members need.
Training log added to platform as well as trainer details page.
