## **KENYA HOPE CHARITY AGM:** 21/11/2021 **CHAIRMAN’S REPORT**

Despite travel restrictions and lockdowns at home and in Kenya, Kenya Hope Charity has continued to grow slowly and surely thanks to you our loyal supporters. I’m sure that the following treasurer’s report will confirm that our income has increased because of new sponsors and your excellent support during this year’s fund-raising.

It would be easy for me to say how well we are doing in Kenya, but because of the hard work and dedication of our 3-man Kenyan Committee. I’ll let our chief co-ordinator comment on how we are doing:

_“To our dear sponsors,_

_Receive greetings from Kenya Hope Charity, Kenya committee. We are so grateful to what God is doing through you. Since we began to experience the impact of Covid-19 early last year, by the grace of God we have felt and experienced the love of God through your support even at a time when the whole world is hard hit by this pandemic. We are aware that you have been more affected by this disease than us, yet you have tirelessly continued to support us by you generous giving. The most we can do is to keep you in our prayers that the Lord my grant you more life. Without your support, many of our people who live below one dollar a day could be left hopeless but you have given them hope. They see future through your support which is already creating an impact in the community. We as a committee are determined to ensure that we engage the less privileged widows and youth in starting projects that can make them more self-sustainable by initiating income generating projects. May God richly bless you as His word states that it is more blessed to give than to receive.”_

_Rev.Edward Wata, KHC Coordinator_

Next year is full of promise as we grow from firm foundations. In January, a team of 3 (including myself) will be visiting Kenya to oversee the completion of our two new schools, visit our two foodbanks and to plant the 1,000[th] tree in school compounds, grown by youths in one of our two Tree Nurseries set up to teach them the importance of caring for creation, to give them a purpose and a small income, to help fight global warming and to provide a fruit supplement to the school meals of future generations of pupils.

If you would like get involved in this life-changing work to help take the charity to the next level, please let one of the committee know.

Finally, I would like to thank my fellow trustees: Irene Humphreys, Shaun Rowlands and June Brown, treasurer Martin Purnell, and associates Paul Gill and Kat and Andy Watts for all of their hard work during a challenging year. Special thanks also to Locking Castle Church for keeping us as a mission partner, and a special thank you to all our child sponsors and supporters, we couldn’t do it without you.

_**Thank you for listening. Does anyone have any questions?**_
