Charity is still in transition – We currently have no trading

Achievements and performance from Charity 700295 – The Blackhall Community Association

2022 – was a year of Recover and discover – To find new ways to work , to learn from what we did during the pandemic.. To encourage centre users to come back to us.

We used our many years of experience to reintroduce people back to the centre – The pandemic damaged so many relationships that had been moulded.

We discovered new partnership working with Durham university and the Museum department – resulting in us delivering a project called “Street Museum” – this won us an award in the North East Arts and culture programme and has opened so many doors for us..

We have widened our net and shared our best practice at a conference in London and worked with Sheffield University to help them understand the working relationship. Our relationship with Durham Uni continues to grow.

We saw our long serving Gardner retire and replaced by Tony and new groundsman.

All of the staff have stepped up and added knowledge to their already vast arsenal.

We are working towards changing our charity status to CIO to future proof ourselves and to add some protection for our Board of Trustees.

Plans we had for the future
