April 2023 to March 2024 has been 8 full year which has brought some
changes. Our focus a3ain has been 'Jesus is the attraction - Jesus is the
soluti￿. whth has been worked out in many different ways.

Through the spring and summer we finished off our series teaching
through the letter to the Romans. People were encouraged and
challenged as we k*)ked at the wonderful tnrths this book contains. In the
Autum we did a series called Think-Feel-Do sookn.ng at the Biblical
pathway for change and wholeness. sin￿ Christmas we have been
working througb our 'Whal N(pw Training. which has helped bring a clarity
and depth to the church. We continue to be enriched by times of praise,
prayer and Share together. and to enjoy each others company with time
rovided for ￿freshry￿￿ts and conVerSat￿n. We have maintsined the

Mid- Week
l Hope GrcAJPS have continued to provide the bulk of the mid-week
I prcNJramme. giving opFK)rtunty to delve deeper into the hope Jesus offers
in and Ihrough His word. Since starting 'VVhat on a Sunday Hope
Groups have run alongsKle this gpiing further space to consider the
themes brought up on the Sunday. Communty Prayer remained an
important tirrE together and we also did several games nights at
Communty Connecl which proved to be fun and also fruFtful in
d8veloping connections and relationships.

The church also stsrted a Coffee Afternoon {through which some ofthe
above projeds were carried out), initialty in Longbrty but then moved to
Wesl Heath. This is smaller than the Coffee Moming but a good hub for
COnnect￿n with people and the building of c(fftNnity.
Mobile Coffee Moming continued to alb￿ us to nxet local residence and
engage wf(h peopk where they are at.
Future Proof
In October 2023. Redeemer Church began managing the futureproof
project in partnership wilh Northfield Communty Partnership, funded by
BCC prevention and communtttes. This was the result of Redeemer
being invited to partner wtth NCP followi.ng a change in anlicipated
budget.
The project consists of assisiing over 50s to li4* well for longer, in their
homes, in Ihe Northfield constit￿nCy. HavirvJ already Worked for many
years alongside FuturepY(M)f. and having a strong schedule of local
activrties running, thks seemed like a straMJhttoThvard and beneficial work
and relationship to Ur￿ertake. The COGA was amended to incorporate
the work of Redeenw Church into the ex￿ting V￿rk of the Futureproof

The prqect ccnsists of fdriOUS SUPtKNt to cibzens, induding emergency
support of fcc#J parcels and fuel vouchers. a gardening clearance Service,
handyman Ser¥￿e. OT assessments. Weware and Housing support.
Financial suptx)rt. Mental Health support (through ways for wellbeing),
alongside varK)us other signposting and support. This has benefitted from
linking citizens into the existing coffee rn(￿1ng and aftemoon run by
Redeemef Church. alongside the various p)p up projects occurring. The
coffee tTh)minglaftem¢J)n can also acl as a regular localion for drop in
sessions for the project.
The project is Tunning *EII and utfiised by aluli social care, the mental
health trust and other professional bodies in the area. as well as citizens
being able lo self refer. It is proving effe￿Ne in supporting citizens in the
constituency and enables Redeemer to be trK)re activety involved in
providing relief to the po(x.
There have also been numerous focMI parc* and hjel vouchers
distributed. various actions (such as support with a PCN for the clean air
zone in Bifftingham) and events offered to citvzens. Over Chnstmas. 56
crtizens were gifted a Christmas hamper and during the winter months we
have distributed 54 wam home bags.
Kids Work
The kids group grew and developed over the year. allowing weekty
sessions on a Sunday to take p*e with mre peop￿. Linked wrth the
community activrties, we were also able to facilrtate various summer
activrties through the'caribbean Summer activities. Following this we
decided to begin regular events for the chihlren to help build friendships.
This has included a light party in the autumn, and Christmas paty. We
also ran ¥arK￿8 children's acli¥it*s at the Hot Cross Bun party.

The lasl Iwelve months has seen the youth go from strength lo strength.
We tcok nine of the youth to Ne*xlay ftx the first time (a Christian youth
festival). This was a particular highlight of the year with many of the youth
meeting wrth Gc#J in a new way and deepening their faith as a result.
We continue our half iermty socials on a Friday night, including our
flagship Christmas and bonfire socials Iwrth over Iwenty youth attending).
We also vistt Emerge (another n8bV frontiers church youth group) once a
hatl lefm. We have Iwice I￿nIhty youth meetings on a Sunday morning
where we k￿k al the bible together, we regulady have belween ten and
fifteen attend. Another particular highlight was seeing a couple of the
youth getting baptLsed in Ihe ￿$1 twelve months.

interesling conveTsatK)ns and opportunities to pray for p¥)￿.
Christma&
We once again had an Outdo￿ & indoor Carol servi￿ with festive
freshments. Both ofthese went well with people from the communty
attending and enjoying a gcKMJ sing song & heanng about the reason w8
can ￿lebrate at Christmas. The church also dtd several other events
around Christmas through the Coffee MornirKJ and Coffee Aftemoon -
Christmas baking with BH8. Chrislmas Wreaths. a Christmas Party, a
ChristrTr3s Film aftern(￿ and a Pop Up Nativty at Austin Rose Care

lof different IlaV￿r5 & types). plenty of coffee. actrvittes for the kids,
colouring cornFetrt￿n (for all ages) and a short gospel explanation.
People from the communty attended wrth many conversations and
inleraclM)n5 haFwing over a nmx Hot Cross Bun.
We ceFebraled Easter Sunday for the first time with a Bapb'sm Service.
Four Baplisms in total and ts the first (in￿ more men than women. Thts
was a wonderfijl C￿S￿n.
Other Events
In May we held a CoronalK)n Celebration event vthich inVo￿ed our
Sunday meeting moving outside, a street closure, Crafts & sports {TAWS)
and plenty of cake and drinks.
In November V￿ had another Baptism Sunday. again with 4 people being
baptised, a number of guests attended and as always with baptisms this
was 8 wonderful occasion.
In the Summer we again hekl a Fun Day (this time called P￿niC in the
Parkl. The weather was not as go(¥J as the ￿lOuS year which affected
numbers, but local peo￿ still had a great lin￿ enjoying the inflatables,
the fire engine hose and more.
Pastoral
Through Hope Groups. wJanic friendships and th8 delNery of specif
support & Iraining people have been SUp￿￿led in and through differenl
Circumstan￿ and issues. Biblical Counselling & Prayer Ministry have
been delivered to people in a varEty of situations. Marriage & relationship
Support also given. We have continued to seek to be a community which
looks out for each other arKI our WKler ￿)mMun￿.

As well as gathering together to meet and put on events & services in all
the drfferent ways expressed in this rewt, the church ha5 also dispersed
out into the world, laking the gc4￿ne$S of God in Jesus into many varied
places (homes. neighbc￿rhood$. places of employment. leisure activities
etc} being a blessing to many. in many drfferent ways and enriching
sc¢iety.
