Structure, governance and management
Governing document THE BURN 24-7 UNITED KINGDOM is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 13 Jun 2017.
The Burn 24-7 UK as an organisation The Burn 24-7 UK operates primarily in the United Kingdom, with links with churches and Christian organisations both in the UK and internationally. In particular, Burn 24-7 UK relates to the Burn 24-7 as a global movement, operating in several nations worldwide including the USA, continental Europe, especially Eastern Europe, India and South Africa. Burn 24-7 is a movement of burning hearts across the world returning to their first love for Jesus and then taking that love to the nations.
Local Burn Furnaces are at the heart of the movement. These are communities of passionate worshippers from different churches and denominations who unify around the presence of God for ‘Burns’ – regular extended times of worship and prayer.
Burn 24-7 UK started in 2009 and has grown since to around 25 Burns across the UK. The movement is growing as new Burn Furnaces are launched. There is a hunger stirring across the nation for the presence of God and to see night and day worship established.
Discipleship and training are carried out via the online ‘Field Training’ programme. We also have an annual residential discipleship school and an apprenticeship programme.
Our UK missions arm is developing with local street outreaches and other, extended outreaches during events such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In the past we have also sent several mission trips overseas and hope to begin doing so again post-pandemic. Through our wider association with Burn 24-7 Global we are connected with a missions base in Northern Iraq.
Within the United Kingdom an organisational structure has developed to provide this largely ‘grassroots’ movement effective support for sustainable growth. Local Furnaces have at least one Director ultimately responsible for pioneering it with the Holy Spirit’s help. Directors are strongly encouraged to prioritise the development of a

local team that will share the vision and bring different skills to bear on its fulfillment. Local Furnace Directors are supported by a National Leadership Team which includes the National Director, Regional Directors, an Administrator and others providing additional support for areas such as evangelism and overseas mission, and discipleship and training.
The Burn 24-7 UK as a charity
The charity was established in 2017 in support of the wider aims of the organisation. Being registered as a charity provides a context within which good practice can be applied to financial accountability and social responsibility. As such the board of Trustees aims to meets at least quarterly and, within the constraints of one Trustee living overseas, to make two of these meetings face to face. These meetings are to allow Trustees to review the finances, risk management, legal issues and other matters affecting the charitable company.
In setting our objectives and planning our activities, the Trustees have regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance is relevant.
Objectives, activities and achievements
The objectives of the charity are:

The advancement of the Christian faith;

The stirring of prayer and worship within the wider church;

The facilitation of mission and evangelism in the UK and wider.
Local Furnaces
Local Furnaces are at the heart of the Burn 24-7. There are currently around twenty-five Burn furnaces in the UK, with interest being expressed about more starting. We are convinced that everything in life should flow from a place of first love for God. Within the reporting period, a new Burn started in Wrexham, our first Furnace in North Wales.
There is a variety in the level of activity, depending on where each local Furnace is in its development process, but the majority consistently hold extended (at least four hours, often more) worship and prayer times, with sessions led by worship leaders representing the church across their locality. Burn 24-7 UK has a rising profile within the UK church, which is helping connections with local leaders, and an

increasing sense of favour for what we are doing. We love to partner with other parts of the body of Christ, and our Directors are often found supporting other similar ventures under those ventures’ own banners.
The reporting period saw an easing of restrictions on in-person gatherings as the Covid-19 pandemic entered its second year. These changes brought about different responses from local Burn Furnaces as some embraced the opportunities to gather in physical spaces and navigated the challenges posed by mask-wearing and restrictions on singing, for example. Other Furnaces continued to worship online whilst some adopted a ‘blended’ approach, meeting in-person whilst livestreaming events for the benefit of those who were unable to attend. Many local Directors reported similar experiences of attendees hugely appreciating the social spaces Burns facilitated, as well as the opportunity to worship together again. Several also commented on the sense that people needed to ‘relearn’ how to worship and rediscover confidence in singing and being in close proximity to others.
National Initiatives
As a national movement, we gathered regularly online throughout the reporting period.
Furnace Directors participated in calls, some regional and some national. In addition:

In August 2021, many local Directors and Team members choose to attend the ‘David’s Tent’ worship festival in West Sussex. Burn 24-7 UK was able to host a session in a large marquee; this represented the first opportunity for a national gathering since the Covid-19 pandemic.

In October 2021, we held a weekend in-person Summit at The Poplars in Ledury. This was attended by nearly all UK Furnace Directors. All attendees were asked to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test which enabled us to gather in a Covid-safe environment. This was the first opportunity to gather as a national Movement since Robin and Claire Dillamore became National Directors. It was a precious time of connecting and reconnecting, worshipping together, teaching, learning and resting, and was hugely appreciated by all who attended.

In December 2021, the Burn UK Core Team was able to gather in Chester for a day of prayer, fellowship and planning.

Directors. This culminated in a 24-hour online ‘Burn’ which involved people from across the UK and overseas.

In the autumn of 2021 we began planning for future initiatives including a two-week Burn and outreach planned to take place during the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, and a 2022 summer discipleship school.
Burn 24-7 UK Missions
Burn 24-7 UK Missions seeks to:

See the restoration of the UK as a great sending nation of long and short-term missions

Train and equip local Burns across the UK to become missional – activating them in local, supernatural outreach

Plant Furnaces of worship all over the world, bringing worship to the darkest places
UK mission trips
- Our first post-pandemic missions trip took place in August 2021 with an extended Burn and outreach during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Overseas mission trips:
- As a result of Covid-19 restrictions it was not possible to undertake any overseas mission trips during the reporting period, but planning began for trips to Bethlehem and Cyprus during the summer of 2022.
Equipping and Training
We are committed to building people up to be able to fulfill the calling to love God and love the world He loves. To this end we run several initiatives aimed at equipping believers through the word and practical engagement.
Hillside Intensive
We were able to run our Hillside Intensive training school in July 2021. All attendees were asked to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test which enabled us to gather in a Covid-safe environment. This first post-pandemic school was open to all Hillside alumni and spouses and provided opportunity to worship together, reflect on experiences during the pandemic, and to consider the benefits of community-based expressions of church.
Burn 24-7 Apprenticeship

This is a year’s programme with lots of hands on application and personal mentoring towards gaining practical leadership and ministry skills. Field Training (see below) forms part of the apprenticeship programme.
In 2021-22, we had two apprentices attached to the Durham Burn Furnace and its associated House of Prayer.
Field Training
This is an online course developed by the Burn 24-7 global community with an orientation towards establishing people in the Burn 24-7 DNA. Field Training is recommended to local Burn furnace directors and members of their teams and is open and available to anyone interested in developing a fuller understanding of the worship and prayer movement.
During the report period, Robin and Claire Dillamore were appointed by the Burn 24-7 Global Team to oversee the redevelopment of Field Training. Existing modules of the self-paced course were revised and extended, and new modules were added. Teaching and learning still takes place via pre-recorded videos, Bible study, and required reading by a wide variety of authors. The course now includes opportunities for differentiation, such as resources for ‘going deeper’ in areas of study and suggestions for extended reading.
In the UK, 2021-22 saw a highly successful mentoring group run with a British leader, who has now been added to our National Leadership Team. This group worked through the materials together at a manageable pace, with every student who began graduating the course. Much positive feedback was received from participants.
Development of this model in the UK and USA is anticipated, as is further development of the teaching and learning materials, including translation for non-English speakers.
Financial Statements
A bookkeeping system exists, overseen by our Administrator. This provides accountability for local Furnaces to raise finances (through free will offerings at monthly burns and regular giving via standing orders). Funds raised are deposited in the shared bank account and registered within a ‘virtual sub account.’ An annual donation of 10% is recommended from each furnace to help cover ‘generic costs’, such as

paying for the cost of bookkeeping. As a charity we monitor the payments received and will claim gift aid where it is appropriate. During the reporting period, a consultation involving Trustees, Burn UK Core Team and UK Furnace Directors took place to establish a new subscription-based Finance Mode; this will be implemented from April 2022.
This account and bookkeeping system is also used to manage other corporate activities such as Hillside. Missions trips and the annual Summit.
The Trustees are usually responsible for preparing the Directors' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
In the year ended 31 March 2022, the charity’s annual income was below the threshold at which an independent examination becomes a requirement. However, the appended financial statements, prepared by a qualified accountant, outline the charity’s receipts and payments for the year together with its year-end financial position.
