Objectives and activitles: The purposes of the Church are the advancement of the Christian falth In accordance wlth the Basis of Faith. primarily but not èxclusively within Colchester. The Church may also carry out other charitable purposes as shall, In the opinion of the members of the Church, furtherthe work of the Church. Due to the Covid pandemic restrictions for much of the year, many of the usual funetlons of the Church had to be suspended. A senilce, either audio or visual. was recorded each Sunday mornlng and available online, and mid-week prayer meetings and Bible studies were also held using Zoom. The Church has considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit, in partlcular the specific guidance for the advancement of religion, and believes that this has been met. Achievements and performance: The Church seeks to present the Gospel of Jesus Chrlst to the neighbourhood through the services and other activities. but in view of the spiritual nature of these objectives it is difficult to specify achievements. Because of the Covid pandemic many activities could not take place as normal during the year. However. the following activities have taken place {these being in addition to those mentioned above): 'Messy Church, has been held outside the front of the church several times for children, and pack5 of Crafts and literature etc. were handed out to parents and children who passed by who are accompanied by a responsible adult. A meeting for ladies was held monthly and these were on Zoom. Several missionaries and organisations have continued to be supported during the year, but were largely through literature distribution. Financial review: The Church is supported by voluntary contributions. The a¢¢ounts for the period show income of £58028 and a surplus of £41469. The balance at the end of the year was £66723. The search for a new Pastor continued and the accumulation of funds will largely be applied to finance this and ne¢e55ary building maintenance. Despite the Covid restrictions mentioned previously, financial support for the Church continued. The Trustees are actively searching for a new minister. During the year the Chur¢h made gifts of £5728 to organisations involved in the work of the Gospel in the UK and throughoutthe world. No payments were made to trustees apart from the ￿1MbUrsernent of expenditure incurred forthe Church. Other optional information: None.
