The charity is a charitable incorporated organisation registered wth the Registrar of Companies ion 8th June 2017.
Recrultment and appointment of members
All trustees must be appointed or reappointed by election at the charitys annual general meetin9 and annual election is required.
Objectlves and activities
The principal objectives of ETWF are to promote the good health of the public by raising awaren'ess and advancing education
of the public in the condition of erosive tooth wear and its prevention and treatment and by prowoling research in all aspects of
the condition of erosive tooth wear and to publish and disseminate the useful results for the public benefit.

erosive tooth wear, we now have mor8
global reach than in previous years thanks to the websrte developments and the work on social media over the last three years,
The year 2024 has béen a consolidation year for the Foundation, building on the activites of 20
meeting with all our supporters and colleagues.

activities in UK and USA dental schools in the field of Erosive Tooth Wear.,

Concentrated on Linkedln for our social media outputs.

The résults of thi5 project showed similar results in many areas be￿een the USA and UK for teSching Erosive Tooth Wear at dental
schools. Thè BEWE was used more in the UK than the USA but there were overall similarities Le￿&6n the countries in terms of
viewing the importance of education and understanding diagnosis to ensure screening and risk assessment results in effective
prevention of the condition.
This survey had a high response rate of 100 /0 of the UK undergraduate dental schools and 1000/0 of the schools surveyed
within the Pacific Region of the Consortium of Dental Education {CODEI organisation. CODE is a group of US dental
schools that have come together to collaborate on various aspects of dental edu,
ation, often sharing resources,
curriculum development, research initiatives, and best practices lo improve the o
erall quality of dental training across
member institutions.
We had a very suc￿Ssful one-day Academic Symposium on Erosive Tooth Vvear Education, hosted by Professor
Rebecca Moazzez al the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Denlistry on Wednesday September 4th 2024
In San Francisco, to discuss the UK and US results of the Education Project wit
around 30 delegates representing North
American dental s¢hools in the Pacific Region of CODE.
Thé symposium was filmed for US Continuous Education credits and has been disseminated.
The results showed areas of similarity and some differences between the UK and USAJCanada. Three k8y aréas were as
follows..
53 % of UK dental schools were very familiarlfamiliar with International Guidance for teaching Erosive Tooth
Wear whereas 13 /0 of USWCanadian dental schools who re5pobded were very familiarlfamiliar.
In terms of screening and risk assessment of Erosive Tooth Wegr, 100/0 of UK and 75°k of USAJCanadian
schools expected their students to be familiar with screening and risk assessment.
In terms of use of the BEWE screening tool, 920/0 of dental schools in the UK expected students to be
familiarwith the BEWE whereas 64/0 of USAJCanadian schools felt the same. The BEWE screening tool is
gaining traction in usage amongst dental professionals in the Ul, and is used in epidemiological and
research studies.
Further data is currently being Gollected from the US and EU dental schools and will be disseminated in 202512026.

I report on the accounts ofthe charity for the year ended 31st December 2024 which are set out on pages 5- 9.

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 ("Ihe Act i.
The charitys trustèes consider that an audit is not required for thi5 year under section 144 of the Act and that an independent
examination is needed,
It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 145 of the Cttarities Act, follow the applicable directions
given by the Charity Commission under section 145151 Ibl of the Act, and stale whether particular matters have come lo my
attention.

My examination is carried out in accordance with general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a
review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It a150
includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosLJres in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning
any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all tho evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently
do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
