Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main** In this fiscal year a total of 129 dogs were successfully adopted into new **achievements of the charity** caring homes with a few others in the safety of a foster home whilst **during the year** waiting for adoption. This number is down slightly on the previous year, despite borders in Europe being closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic preventing travel to the UK. However, our activities in the counties where borders have opened up have increased. Our support and fund-raising has helped improve facilities for our European partners where they are able to offer intermediate shelter for rescued dogs being held in appalling conditions in large municipal pounds.

During the year we took on a foster home co-ordinator whose function it is to arrange temporary homes for rescues where the permanent home is not ready or for various reasons must be moved to a safe place before a permanent home can be found. The foster co-ordinator will, also, recruit new foster families.
