York & District Group Riding for the Disabled Association
Charity Commission Report 2020_2021
This is virtually a nil return as far as RDA core activity is concerned.
We were in lockdown or very limited activity for the year. Our Bank account was low and reserves limited.
Care of ponies and exercise arrangements were supervised by the farm. Later in the year three ponies were loaned out to carefully selected sites which met all costs. One other pony had to be put down due to “Natural causes”.
Fundraising. A teenage volunteer set up a “Go fund Me” site which doubled her target and still attracts contributions. Her Trustee father wrote to local papers with further financial success.
Several Rider families made donations. A number of regular volunteers contributed similarly.
Some regular donor groups increased their contributions. Our Appeals Trustee successfully widened our range.
All this activity resulted in the Group ending the year in a better financial position than the Trustees thought possible. They are extremely grateful to all who have helped.
The Future. At year end Government and RDA National guidelines still limit a restart before mid 2021 but we go forward with improved resilience and much hope.
