Chairman's report

We have had three extremely successful concerts this year:

1. The concert on the 25th of November 2023 was held at Saint Martins church Walsall And included the following: Marriage of Figaro Somerset Rhapsody Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld Nimrod Palladio L’Arlessiene Paul Simon Medley

2. The concert on the 16th of March 2024 was held at All Saints Church Streetly and included the following: Slaughter on 10th Avenue the Marriage of Figaro overture Trisch trasch Polka Besame Mucho music from the Gladiator Toy Symphony

3. Our concert on the 15th of June 2024 was held in Saint Matthews church Walsall where we played music including:

Pomp and Circumstance Phantom of the Opera Pirates of the Caribbean Sound of Music Les Miserables Themes from 007 Titanic Broadway tonight

All were enhanced by our team of fantastic Deps, clearly enjoyed by the audiences, and orchestra members alike.

This year we have said goodbye, unfortunately, to Jane Taylor, our long standing French horn player who has supported the orchestra for many years both as a player and as a committee member. We wish her well in her retirement from the orchestra.

We have welcomed two new members: Sue on the oboe and returning member Kate, also on the oboe

This year unfortunately, our long standing committee Secretary has decided to stand down from the secretary position in the committee, after many many years of serving the orchestra in this position. Thank you Rosemary.

I would also like to thank Clive our long-suffering conductor who without fail turns up to rehearsals each week, and keeps us in line, which is no mean feat. He puts passion into our rehearsals and adds fun, information and laughter to our concerts
