THE SPINAL TRACK ANNUAL REPORT FOR 1/1/24 – 31/12/24

REG CHARITY NUMBER: 1173285

Summary of the purposes of the charity:

The charity was set up to provide incredible driving experiences simply not available to disabled drivers. It was noted that there were no available cars on hand controls (or other adaptions) for disabled drivers in the UK to take part in track driving. We then added a disabled rally school to our experiences, to become the World leading supplier of disabled driving experiences.

2024 Charity achievements:

We ran 9 track days at Silverstone, giving 36 drivers an incredible day behind the wheel.

We spent a lot of time trying to find a replacement experience due to sadly losing the rally school venue late in 2023. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a rally school or driving venue that would work for us, but we continued to work hard to find somewhere that would be good, safe and appropriate for our accessibility needs.

We carried on and grew our community events. Events included taking a group of drivers to the Aston Martin F1 factory at Silverstone to watch Free Practice of the British Grand Prix and have a tour, to inviting 50 guests to the Silverstone Festival and then having our Christmas Party at the Aston Martin F1 factory.

Fundraising:

We are still the official charity partner of the Aston Martin F1 team. This was a huge moment for the charity and shows that volunteer led smaller charities can be taken seriously by large organisations. We are working closely with them on aspects of disability. They have also provided volunteers to help on our days. We are very excited to see how this relationship grows.

Our long term sponsors are still raising money for us and we have been working hard at setting up fundraising events.

It was a difficult year for fundraising, but due to holding good reserves, we can run a deficit occasionally but we will try our best to run a positive year end balance.

Page 7 Impaimient of fixed assets At each reporting end date, the charity reviews the carying amounts of its tangible assets to determine whether there is any indication that those assets have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment loss (if any). 1.7 GOVERNANCE COSTS Governance costs comprise all costs involving the public accountability ofthe charity and its compliance with regulation and good practi￿. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised. Impaimient of financial assets Financial assets, other than those held at fair value through income and expenditure, are assessed for indicators of impairment at each reporting date. Financial assets are impaired where there is objective evidence that, as a result one or more events that occurred after the initial recognition of the financial asset, the estimated future cash flows have been affected. If an asset is impaired, the impairment loss is the difference be￿een the carrying amount and the present value of the estimated cash flows discounted at the asset's original effective interest rate. The impairment loss is recognised in net incomel{expenditure) for the year. If there is a decrease in the impairment loss arising from an event occurring after the impairment was recognised, the impairment is reversed. The reversal is such that the current carrying amount does not exceed what the carrying amount would have been, had the impairment previously been recognised. The impairment reversal is recognised in net incomel(expenditure) for the year. Basic financial liabilities Basic financial liabilities, including trade and other payables, are initially recognised at transaction price unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Page 8 Trade payables are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of operations from suppliers. Accounts payable are classed as current liabilities if payment is due within one year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade payables are recognised initially attransaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method. Derecognition of financial liabilities Financial liabilities are derecognised when the charity's contractual obligations expire or are discharged or cancelled. 2. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. These costs include costs related to statutory audit and legal fees together with other overhead and support costs. 1.8 CASH AND CASH EQUIVALENTS Cash and cash equivalents include deposits held at call with banks. 1.9 FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS The charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Financial Instruments" and section 12 "Other Financial Instruments Issues. of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments. Financial assets and liabilities are offset. with the net amounts presented in the financial statements, when there is a legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a net basis or to realise the asset and setue the liability simultaneousty- Basic financial assets Basic financial assets, which includes debtors and cash and bank balan￿s, are initially measured at transaction pri￿ including transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Debt instruments are subsequently carried at amortised cost, using the effective interest rate method.
