The Trustees present their report and accounts for the period 01 April 2020 to 31 March 2021.
structureN governance and management
The South Yorkshire Sexual Wiolence Partnership ISYSVPI is a Charitable Incorporated
Qrganisation ICIOI, registered with the Charity Commission and governed by its constitution
ICJO Foundation), registered 05 June 2017.
The rnembers of the CJO are the charity trustees. Mernbership of the CIO cannot be transferred
to anyone else. Tf the CIO is wound up. the liability of eath member to contribute to the assets
of the con)pany is limited to a sum not exceeding £1.
The affairs of the charity are managed by the trustees. who may exerase all the powers of the
CJO.
The trustees who seryed during the year, to the date of signing this report, are shown on page 3.
Appointment of Trustees
In accordance with the temis of the constitution, there must be a minirnum of three charity
trustees. If the number falls below this rninimum, the ￿MainIng trustees can act only to call a
meeting of the trustees or appoint a new twstee. Every trustee is appointed for a term of three
yea￿ by a resolution passed at a properfy convened meeting of the charity trustees. In
selecting individuals for appointment. the trustees have regard to the skills, knowledge and
experience needed for the effective a¢Jministration of the CIO.
Each new trustee is given a copy of the constitution and the latest trustee s annual ￿port and
accounts, on or before appointrnent.
Risk Management
The trustees are responsible for identifying and managing risk. The truste￿ examine the major
risks that the charity faces and put into operation systerns so that netrssary steps can be taken
to l*sen those risks. A risk rnanagernent poliq is currently being developed which will be
regularly reviewed by the trustees.
Charitable aims and object
The objects of the charity are=
The promotion of the efficiency and effettiveness of charities and the promotion of the effettive
use of charitable resources for the public benefit. by providing SUPPOrt to charities and not for
profit organisatlOn5 operating in South Yorkshire and beyond which a￿ established to relieve the
mental and physical distress of people who hèvÈ experienced sexual violence at any time in their

Activities undertaken for the publit ￿nefit
In shaping the objettives for the year, the twstees have paid due regard to the public benefit
guidance published by the Charity Comrnisgon.
The South Yorkshire Sexual Wiolence Partnership ISYSVPI was established on the 5th June 2017,
initially to (leliver the contract frorn the South Yorkshire poli￿ and Crirne Commissioner to
provide a unified Independent Sexual violen￿ Advisor IISVAI Servitr across the whole of South
Yorkshire. This service is provided by four independent and separate existing oryanisations-
Bamsley Sexual Abuse Rape Crisis Ser¥ices IBSARCSI
Doncaster Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Service IDRASACS)
Rotherharn Abuse Counselling Service IRothACS1
Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre ISRASACI
The SYSVP Board of Trustees consists of two trustee members from each organisation. The

The support offered to clienrs is underpinned by a rnnge of well-estèblished services provlded
within each of the four organisations.
Athiv¥ements during the period
The year was excÈptionèl for the ISVA service. muth like many other organisations adaptations
were made to service delivery in response to the pandetnic which a150 irnpacted the volutne of
referrals over the year and the nutnber of court case5.
Overall there wa5 a 5% reduction in the number of referra15 into the Servi￿, tnainly frotn 8 40
durtion in referrals for QI period during thÈ'fir5t' lockdown. The redurtion in the number of
cases which are Closed in the first four weeks from 34% in 2019-20 to 24Wts in this reporting
period. alongside rescheduled court dates due to the pèndemic. ￿5￿lted in the overall number
of attive cèsÈ5 being maintained at 680 in Q4 of Year 4.

There have been some small change5 in the overall demogrèphits and offence type Df people
accessing the ISVA servi￿. Whilst the￿ ha5 been a slight shift In ethnicity percentages and an
increase in the proportion of males accessing SUPPOrt, syhite females aged between 12 and 24
sbll rnake up the greater pmportion of cases. Whilst fetnale5 are still rnore likely to be seeking
support for offences that are,￿trnt.' the figu￿ has reduced frorn 67% last year to 57Wo in this
porting period. For males there has been a slight shift towards offences that are'historical, in
nature, as previously both 'recent' and'historical, offentrs were equal.
Overall, the service maintained support and servits levels thmughout the reporting p&riod
despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic.
During this period, the local service providers of BSARCS. DRASACS. KothACS and SRASAC
achieved national accreditation of the CHISVA ISVA serwitrs through Ume Culture CIC.
Future Plans
Operationally. maintaining servitr delivery in challenging times is the focus to ensure
clients receive the support requi￿d. From a strategic viewpoint, the TSVA service is due
to be recommissioned in April 2022 and as such the focus will be on drawing on
experientt and best prartitr from the past rive yeats to sutimit a strong bid to retaln the
contRcr moving forward.
The Charlty's pollcy on reserves
At rhe financial year end the chanty did not hold any reserves. The trustees view thls to be
acceptable as liabilibes and finanoal risk are considerEd to be minimal.

I report on the accounts of the charity, whith are set out on pages 9 to 12.

The charity's truste¥ are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees
con51der that an audit 15 not required for this year under section 144 121 of the Charities Act
2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination 15 needed.

My examination wa5 carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity
Commission. An exarnination include5 a review of the accounting record5 kept by the charity
and a cotnpanson of the accounts p￿sented with those records. It also includes consideration
of any unusual item5 or disc105ures in the accounts, and seeking explanations frotn you as
trustees conceming any such rnatters. The prO￿d￿re5 undertaken do not provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audit. and consequently no opinion 15 given as to whether
the accounts present a 'true and fair view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in
the 5taternent below.

The South Yorkshire Sexual violen￿ Partnership rneets the definition of a public benefit entity
under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction
value, unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy notelsl.
Income and expenditure ha5 been analysed in the accounts using natural classification, in
accordance ¥vith the provisions of Settion 4.6. SORP 2019 15rnaller charitie51. The charity also
Meets the requirements for exemption from preparing a statement of cash flow5.
Goin
Concern note
The charify has Secu￿ a contratt from the South Yorkshire Police and Crfme Commissloner
which will sustain the organisation until 31 March 2022. This govemment funding has
continued dunng the Covid-19 pandemic. The trustees therefore have trasonable expettation
that the charity has adeouate resourtrs to continue in operation for the fO￿seeable future.
Taxation
The South Yorkshire Sexual Violentr Partnership is a ￿gIstered charity and Is exempt
from UK corporation tax on income from its charitable activities.
Funds Structure
The charity tnaintain5 a general unre5tnrted fund which represents funds which are
expendable at the discretson of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity.
Restricted funds tnay be provided to the cha￿tY for particular purposes and rnay only
be spent for the purposes for which they were given. Any balance retnaining
outstanding on a re5tncted fund at the end of the year 15 carned forward a5 a balance
on that fund, unless permi55ion has been given by the funder to retnove the restriction
on the balance outstanding.
