The advancement of the arts and science focusing on the health benefits of the natural environment to the public by funding and promoting research / activities that investigate and support said subject. 

Much of the CIO’s activities will take time to reach fruition. Projects investigating the benefits of nature in terms of wellbeing and health, particularly for vulnerable people, are ongoing.

The charity concentrated on the following: Developing advice on nature-based arts/science matters for  academics, policy makers, and other professionals. Developing educational materials on nature-based issues for the public as well as academics and other professionals. The CIO continued to work with: Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science; Department of Neuroscience, Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) University of Sussex. Department of Psychology, School of Life Sciences and Education, Science Centre, Staffordshire University. The CEDA disability charity, Exeter.
