The object of the CIO is to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by
preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of
those people who are socially exclLsded and assisting them to integrate into
society.

Something in Kent was setup to help support people who were most
disadvantaged to improve their lrfe opportunitie5. We provide into work
support, basic comwer training and outreach activities to those who are
long-lemi unemployed. Feople wth long-term health conditions and
groups who are most isolated within their community lo help improve
their physical hea￿h and mental well-bèing.
The serviGes that we currenlly run at the charity inGludes'.
One-to-one support for people who are long-term unemployed helping
them with into work activities including creating a CV, one-to-one job
searching, interview skills, completing job applications and help wrth
applying for and finding work
Softer skills engagement activities including basic computer skills
training, energy and budgeting support and work-relaled courses to
improve confidence, self-esteem and motivation to support adults with
learning disabilities to give them the skills and encourage them lo take
part in other community-based activilies
Sports and recreation engagement activities covering cookery, sensory
activities and retro gaming, cinema, watersports, football, relaxation and
Meditation as well as new activities specifically requested by the
participants that we engage
Capacity building and training activities for local charities including
support with bid writing, monitoring and evaluation advice, fundraising
strategies and other general support

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Our achievements for 2021-22:
Supported 187 people wrth inlo-work support training including CV'S,
job searching, tablets outreach support scheme and supported work
related training and volunteering opportunities
Delivered basic computer skills and into work computer training through
one to one, small group and online learning where we supported 140
people lo improve their computer skills, improve into work support skills
and supported 80 isolated members of thè community to have computer
devices lo help them get online
Started a programme of 8 differenl sports, recreation and engagement
activities lo supporting around 170 adults with learning disabilities and
those with long-term health conditions, young people and other members
of the local communrty
Supported 5 organisalions build their capacity and become more
financially secure through COVID including support with funding
applications, fundraising strategies, staff training, volunteer and outreach
activities lo help engage new members of their community
