Agreed by the 3. DC Foundation Annual Return submission Committee as a correct The details shared in the presentation by Ben Blackwood provides record. the information that we need for the annual return (presentation BBL attached). Ben Blackwood will complete the return.
- Update on IACAD, IHC and the school’s development office
Lisa Parker, Charities Administrator, reported that the IHC licence has not been renewed due unresolvable difficulties in transferring monies to the UK.
Fundraising permits have since successfully been raised through DubaiCares which is a locally registered charity. We currently have LPA a 3 pronged approach to raising money; events, online crowd funding and cash collection boxes.
To date the online platform has raised AED51,881 and collection boxes will be collected and counted during July.
Our project with Parhar Trust, to rebuild part of a school in Bandipur educating 123 students, is now complete. Our financial commitment with UWS for Jaisithok school is now complete.
We will continue to maintain relationships with all schools we have financed. RSH/Charity Committee The new project with UWS to build a school in Talung is underway and we expect to complete within the agreed timeline. Our financial commitment is in place until June 2029 at which stage LPA the local authorities will take full responsibility of the running of the school.
New projects to build school number 4 will be reviewed once we LPA have full details of our fund raising efforts for 2023/24. Action plan for term 1 to be published and submission for new LPA/RSH IACAD permit to be made. Parent and student trips to UWS Bailey in Talung will take place in RSH the upcoming academic year.
Mike Lambert acknowledged the success and progress the Foundation has made and said a huge thanks to Lisa and Rupal for their commitment. He also thanked the Trustees for their continuing support since the launch of the Dubai College Foundation.
