Community Keepers UK CIO supported the work of Community Keepers South Africa. As a result of the support, Community Keepers could make the following impact from 1 Jan-31 October 2024: - •89 (2023: 79) school-based offices were operational in 2024 reaching 78 168 learners in total - •8658 (2023: 5 993) learners benefitted from individual counselling services - 189 203 (2023: 99 956) learners were enrolled in pro-active resilience based groupwork activities - •7 239 (2023: 7 994) educators attended one or more of our 320 (2023: 308) educator support and development events throughout the year - •33 422 (2023: 59 421) parents attending 321 (2023: 231) parenting events ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** No fundraising events were held in 2024. The income for the year amounted to £nil (2023: £nil) and expenditure amounted to £315 (2023: £334). Net assets amounted to £9,861 (2023: £10,176) as at the end of the financial year. ## **Going concern** The assets of the charity exceeded its liabilities as at the end of the financial year. As a result it is the opinion of the Trustees that the charity has sufficient access to funds to enable the accounts to be prepared on a going concern basis. ## **Policy on Reserves** Due to the objective of the charity being one of acting as a conduit for funds to flow to its beneficiaries, and the fact that the charity is currently run by volunteers and operates on a lean cost structure, it currently has no need to keep substantial reserves, but rather to allow most of the funds to flow through to its beneficiaries. However, as the size of the charity increases and the need for staffing, offices or other overhead costs increases, reserves will be set aside to cover at least 6 months' operating expenditure. 2 Doc ID: 1f6075b16ea1e60cbbedfaa117a53767d05859b8 ## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** The governing document is the Community Keepers UK CIO constitution adopted on 10 February 2017 which became recognized by the Charity Commission when the Charitable Incorporated Organisation was registered on 31 May 2017. The policy and operating decisions of the charity rest with the Trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the charity. Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of 3 years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the trustees. In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. Based on the adequacy of the charity’s reserves as at the balance sheet date, along with their knowledge of the charity’s ability to meet bills, payments and other liabilities as they fall due, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has sufficient resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The accounts have consequently been prepared on the going concern basis. ## a) Donated and grant income: Donated income and grants receivable are taken into account when received by the charity. Income received in circumstances where a claim for repayment of tax has been or will be made to HM Revenue & Customs is grossed up for the tax recoverable. Any amount of tax reclaimed from HM Revenue & Customs but not yet received is shown within the charity's debtors. ## b) Other income and expenditure: Investment income is taken into account when receivable and expenditure, including irrecoverable VAT, when incurred by the charity, regardless of when payment is made. Grants payable are taken into account at the earlier of when they are paid or become constructive obligations. ## c) Funds: Unrestricted funds are donations and other income received or generated for the objects of the charity without specified purpose and are available for purposes as directed by the trustees. Restricted funds are amounts received where the donor has specified the purpose for which it should be used. ## d) Taxation The charity is a registered charity and is exempt from taxation under the Income & Corporation Taxes Acts. ## e) Cashflow statement The charity has taken advantage of the exemption provided by the Financial Reporting Standard 102 and has not prepared a Cash Flow Statement for the year. |**2**
