Financ￿lty the is secure. During the per#3d the company 8xpenenced a surplus of £2,073
which has been added to reserves.
The unrestn.cted fund balance ot £21,749 exceeds the reserves pjlicy of be￿een three and six
rTh)nths' expenditure as agreed by the trustees. This is due lo the reduced expenditure on items su¢h
as the rental of the schcol building lor church services, due lo the impact of Covid-19 and the church
not meeting in person for the maionty of the year. The trustees are curently Considering causes
wh￿h the chanty can contnbute to in order lo reduce the reserves 90ing fo￿ard, arthotjgh il is also
expected that expendsture ￿11 rise this in 2021 as the Impact of Covid-19 lessens and the church can
meet in person again.
The trustees c4)nbnue to revEw the mapr nsks to whrch the company is exposed In order to establish
systems to manage those risks.
Impa¢t of Covid-19
As a Tesult of the COVID-19 pandemic, all church services were suspended on 17 March 2020. From
19 March 2020 all church se￿￿5 were conducted via zoom. This has consisled ofweekty meebngs
at 8..15 on Thursdays and at 10.'30 on Sundays.
At this bme there are no plans to go ba¢k to meeting physically. bLJI when this decision is made rt will
be in adherence with the govemment guidelines that are in place at that time and to ensure minimal
risk to the attendees to the church service of (2tching COVID-19.
The Trustees belie¥e the charity remains a going concem, even after the advetse impact of Covid 19.
This is because..
The majority of income comes from regular gNing, church members paying in Ihe main ty
stsnding orders, which has held up during the ¢risis",
Church attendance on Zoom has remained the same as when physical meetings were tsking

## Report to the Trustees of Thornhill Vineyard Church Charity No. 1173226

I report to the trustees of Thornhill Vineyard Church on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] December,2020.

## **Respective responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act; and in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under Section 145 (5) (b) of the Act.

## **Independent Examiner’s Statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:

- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Signed:

Date 6[th] August, 2021
