Chairperson’s Report 2023-24
Services

We have had a total of 48 children accessing our nursery provision over the past year and there are currently 16 on the waiting list.

We continue to receive multiple referrals per week from health visitors, the paediatric neurodevelopmental team, support workers, RCTCBC parenting team, resilient family team and from schools requesting advice and support for some challenging pupils.

Our parent/child group runs every Wednesday morning in the community centre.

Our after-school provisions are full, Children in Need continue to fund our autistic after school provision until July 2024. We have applied for an additional 3 years of funding from Children in Need.

In October 23, Rhiannon McHugh was appointed as our full time Charity development officer for the initial period of 1 year. This appointment will continue providing additional funding is granted.

The community centre is thriving, Rhiannon has worked tirelessly to plan activities that will bring the community together. Our food pantry opened in February 2024 and has been a huge success.

RCTCBC have approved our application for the asset transfer of Perthcelyn Community Centre. We will continue to work with our solicitor and the local authority legal team and anticipate this will be completed by the end of 2024.

Egin have completed an energy efficiency audit. We will be applying for grants to improve energy efficiency in both the nursery and the community centre.

We have been approached by Gadlys Rovers Juniors football team who would like to work closely with us and offer children accessing our services exclusive football sessions.
Fundraising
We have had various fundraising activities over the past year. This includes concerts, marathons, raffles, medium evenings, singers/bands, fayres and bonus ball raffle.
