performance, targeting amateur
musicians to participate as performers
(particularly the under 35s) and aiming
to inspire them to make music all year
round.

had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public

Achievements and Performance

SORP
reference
Summary of the
main
achievements of
the charity,
identifying the
difference the
charity’s work
has made to the
circumstances
of its
beneficiaries
and any wider
benefits to
society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 We were delighted to return our new venue of Kings
Cross, and we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing
support of the Kings Cross estate team – we couldn’t do
such great work without them!
Over 200 people participated in a single mass
performance event, and despite some slight rain all
afternoon, everyone had a fantastic time.
Headline statistics include:
Out of 290 sign-ups, 63 (22%) don't make music regularly
anywhere else.
Of those who don't make music anywhere else, 79%
would like to make music more regularly and are happy
for us to help them find a music group.
The statistics lead us to conclude that we have met our
target of reaching people who don’t normally make
music, aiming to bring them into more regular music
making.

Additional information (optional) You may choose to include further statements where relevant about:

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 See above description.
Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 We are pleased that a modest amount of
fundraising occurred at our
performance event.
However, it is still not quite enough to
meet annual costs.
In the next reporting period, a large
funding application will be prepared and
submitted, to bring financial stability.
Investment performance
against objectives
Para 1.41 N/A.

Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 The charity is in a difficult position and
no longer has sufficient in reserve for a
further year of operation.
However, no more major expenditure is
required until much later in the year. The
charity has enough time to make an
application for substantial funding
before the year is out.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 The charity holds minimal reserves. See
below.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 £50
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22 The required annual operational costs
for the single event currently planned
annually by the charity are below £150.
It is planned to fundraise for these costs
each year, through donations from
participants, profit on merchandise
sales and/or sponsorship.
Details of fund materially in
deficit
Para 1.24 N/A.
Explanation of any
uncertainties about the
charity continuing as a going
concern
Para 1.23 N/A.

The charity’s principal
sources of funds (including
any fundraising)
Para 1.47 Previously, the charity’s funds have
come from an Arts Council “Grants for
the Arts” award, with small donations
making up the rest of the income. In
future, we hope that year-on-year
operational costs will be met by
donations from the event participants,
and grants will be sought to expand
activities where necessary.
Investment policy and
objectives including any
social investment policy
adopted
Para 1.46 N/A.
A description of the principal
risks facing the charity
Para 1.46 The charity is reliant on in-kind
contributions from the event host
