Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference |
||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the charity was this year unable to carry out the main event towards their aims, since it was not feasible to organise an event within the covid-19 restrictions. However, we were pleased to organise two online events – an opportunity for performers to pre-record a video contribution to a performance, which was stitched together for a virtual mass band; and a live online “playalong” session to maintain community spirit, where performers could play in time with recordings, giving the illusion of mass participation. Creating an online collaboration enabled participants to join from all around the world, including Norway and Japan. Some of those joining online had not performed traditional British Christmas carols for several years, since they were last in London at Christmas. It is therefore possible that we will explore additional online sessions in future. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we are pleased that we maintained some form of activity. |
