Throughout 2019, Salam LADC opened up its own bank account and thereby successfully launched its own independent finances without having to rely on operating under the auspice of Salam LADC in Lebanon and Norway as well as PRISM the Gift Fund.

The first donation in the new bank account was received in September 2019, after which Salam LADC UK has focussed its fundraising efforts and activities on ongoing support for Salam LADC, including through a grant from Help Refugees, as well as a newly launched Free Border Skate program, in collaboration with the company, Every Girl:

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

_Free Border Skate (FBS) is a female led, female centered skating program, created to use roller skating as a tool to bring people together and to positively change the lives of vulnerable people through the therapeutic nature of physical activity and the confidence building that comes with learning an extreme sport._

The program was intended to be launched in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, by _hosting roller skating sessions, training local teachers and building a roller skating park. However, due to COVID, the rebuilding following the August 2020 explosion and the increased security risk in Lebanon due to political protests, the program was moved to start in Nicaragua._

In 2021, activities remained subdued to the ongoing COVID restrictions and health safety concerns, but the team started preparing for a launch in Nicaragua.

In 2022, activities started to pick back up, with Salam engaging a number of consultants and services (e.g. Fiver, fundraising help, teachers) to continue the skating program and raise some extra awareness and money.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- contribution made by volunteers.
