Update on forthcoming fundraising events include:
-
Sunday 25[th] June – dog walk at Trosley County Park, Kent starting at 11am. Updated poster to be sent to RS for website with updated parking fees.

The Masons held a charity event in March where they intended to provide ½ the funds raised to Restore, and donated £1,350 as a result.
-
Steve Pepper ‘For Ashley Trust’ is hosting a quiz and funds raised will kindly be donated to Restore.
4. MODELS & SHOW AND TELLS
Due to the increase in TUG, LUG and LD reconstructions we have experienced more demand for models who have had reconstructions using their thighs and breast implants.
WORTHING – first session back after COVID was held in March with 20-25 attendees. There were 8 models split into 2 groups with the attendees splitting up and rotating through.
DARENT VALLEY – Still awaiting date for return to events after Covid. However the plan is to hold it in the Empress Suite rather than the Phillip Farrant unit. There is no kitchen, but there is an urn and Restore will purchased coffee jugs. Marie (support worker) will help with admin/posters/advertising.
GUILDFORD
To date the idea of a new group has been well supported and encouraged by the plastic surgeons, however; the BCNs at Royal Surrey (RSCH) are unable to provide full support at this time due to staffing issues/sickness. The Fountain Centre at RSCH are very happy to support by providing a room & the owner can stay behind for a short time after work one evening for the events to take place. Wednesday or Thursday evenings likely to be the best day. Posters advertising the Show & Tell events to be displayed at RSCH / surrounding hospitals and the Fountain Centre in Guildford, encouraging those interested in attending to email the info@restore-bcr.co.uk address. Patient list will be collated by RS/PG and sent to the group co-ordinator Vicki. Leaflets/business cards to be supplied and posters will be sent to all Surrey hospitals as well as social media posts once first date has been finalised. VB is to be commended for getting Guildford up and running and the Trustees congratulated her
GUYS & ST THOMAS’
Guys & St Thomas’ have expressed interest in becoming part of the Restore and hosting ‘Show and tell’ events. Two of the Trustees who are also Breast care nurse specialist have written to the Breast Reconstruction CNS at Guys to explain about Restore and what it entails. They will also be presenting at the ‘Breast Reconstruction Nurse Network’ on 23/05 about QVH and Restore.
IN SUMMARY
Restore continues to go from strength to strength with two very prestigious new groups due to start up in the coming months. We look forward to being able to support many more women as they go through their breast cancer reconstruction journey. We thank all the many volunteers who continue to support us and make this possible.
