To promote the public benefit, the advancement of health and the relief of young children in need by reason of autism and related conditions, and those who care for them, by means of: 

- Promoting public awareness of such conditions and the potential of early intervention to bring about significant improvements; 

- Providing resources for early intervention in the form of care and treatment of people with such conditions; 

- Promoting appropriate research on the potential of early intervention in such 

conditions. 

The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit

## Charity Structure and Management 

- A nominally paid CEO oversees the charity 

- A volunteer leadership team is responsible for running the various areas of the charity 

- Approximately 15 further volunteers also carry out work on a volunteer basis 

## Activities and Objectives for the year 

- To expand the online resources available to parents of autistic children 

- To lay the foundations for the launch of our Family Services in the 2021-22 financial year (following a delay to this as a result of COVID) 

## Achievements and Performance as well as public benefit 

- We continued to develop and expand our online resources for parents of autistic children. 

- We began a partnership with Norland College, who began to create a therapeutic framework for our Family Services to enhance their credibility and effectiveness, and so that families who take them up have the reassurance they need that they are professional, research-based services. 

- The actual delivery of these services was delayed until next year due to the COVID pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

## Trustee Recruitment 

Prospective Trustees undergo: 

- A screening interview with a recruiter 

- A Questionnaire about their prospective trusteeship 

- An optional informal call with the CEO 

- A final interview with at least 2 members of the existing Trustee Board 

Once appointed to the Board, the charity’s constitution provides for a 6-month probation period where the Trusteeship may be ended via the agreement of a majority of the regular Trustees.
