## **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** 

To promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association including Carriage Driving, a Charity registered under charity number 244108 by providing disabled people the opportunity to ride and/or carriage drive to benefit their health or well-being in the West Mercia area 

In furtherance of the Charity’s objects, riding lessons were given, weather permitting, on Fridays during school term time (excluding January) for the benefit of children with disability from local schools. Carriage driving was carried out for part of the summer of 2021, but was curtailed by practical matters. It is hoped to start again in the summer of 2023. It benefits adults generally with severe disability, some from local institutions, who are not able to ride a horse but can be a passenger in a carriage.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

Recruiting and training new volunteers. Promoting physical and mental well-being of clients. Providing opportunities to learn new skills and have them recognised by awarding RDA graded certificates in riding and horse knowledge. 

The donation by the Group to the RDA head office of a silver rose bowl as a national award for Horse Care & Knowledge, to be awarded annually at the National Championships.
