during the year||||As for many charities,
our financial year Sept 2019-Aug 2020 has been
very challenging.|| |||||We successfully
held our inaugural
Charity
Dinner Dance and Auction|in| |||||November 2019;and held 2concerts at Salvi Harp's Offices in London|in| |||||January 2020 and atthe Menuhin
Hall, Cobham
in March 2020, just prior|| |||||to COVID-19 lockdown.|| |||||Since then we have inevitably
been very restricted
in what we have been|| |||||able to do. One ofour year's expected
highlights,
playing
at the World|| |||||Harp Congress
in Cardiff in August was understandably
cancelled.|| |||||We have sought to maintain
contact with our players,
and our rehearsal|| |||||programme,
primarily
via remote Zoom rehearsals,
which whilst|| |||||logistically
challenging,
have proved broadly successful,
with our players|| |||||much appreciating
the opportunity
to rehearse
together,
ifremotely.|| |Briefstatement|||ofthe|The NYHO Charitable
Trust's policy on reserves is to maintain
a
sufficient
level of operational
reserves. As a relatively
new Charity,
we|| |charity's|policy||on reserves|are looking to build our reserve position, to enable us to meet our|| |||||financial
liabilities
in terms of staff costs, contractual
commitments
such|| |||||as venue hire, and overheads
fora period of 12months
in the unlikely|| |||||event ofa temporary
drop orcessation ofincome.
ln so doing, this will|| |||||enable us to continue
our activities to bring harp music to the attention|of| |||||the wider public,
in particular
concerts and tours, and our outreach|| |||||programme,
and to enable us to operate effectively
in this activity.|| |||||COVID-19 restrictions
have inevitably
significantly
impacted
our activities,|| |||||but our reserve position has fortunately
enabled
us to maintain
our|| |||||activities, where these have been possible, and we look forward to re-|| |||||commencin
our concert and our outreach
