## 2023/24 Report & Accounts Chairman’s Statement

The Trusted Executive Charitable Foundation (TTECF / “the Charity”) was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) by the Charity Commission on 16 May 2017. This report covers the period of operation of the charity from 6 April 2023 through to 5 April 2024.

## **1. Charitable Objects:**

The objects of the CIO are:

Within the UK for the public benefit, awarding grants of money, as the charity trustees think fit, to UK registered charities which have a Christian ethos for the purpose of:

- relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, unemployment or other disadvantage;

- advancing the education of persons under the age of 25 years in order to develop their ability, and character and so:

   - enhance their ability to engage in paid employment; or

   - promote their spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development; or

   - prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

## **2. Funding:**

During this reporting period the Charity has been in receipt of funds of £50,494; these funds were donations from a single corporate donor (£37,800) along with donations from individuals (£12,694). Expenditure during the reporting period was £60,304; this included donations of £60,000 to charities registered in the UK. All the administration in support of the charity is provided pro bono by volunteers.

## **3. Outcomes:**

During this reporting period the primary activities of the Trustees were:

- awarding grants to charities with a Christian ethos, including: Bethany Christian Trust (prevention of homelessness), You Can Flourish (mental health and wellbeing of young girls), Sixty-One (reoffending prevention amongst ex-prisoners), Shine Youth (emotional wellbeing & mental health support for young people), Grace Enterprises (supportive, paid jobs for people who face significant barriers to work), Clean Sheet (support in finding sustainable employment for people with convictions), Purple Shoots (enabling disadvantaged people to become economically active again); - leadership development through one-on-one business coaching for members of the leadership teams within the charities where we have awarded financial grants;

- relationship development with stakeholders who support our work;

- regular discussions with leaders within the charities we support to build relationships and to assess the impact of grants that had been awarded; the resulting updates were published on our website (http://www.ttecf.org.uk/partner-charities/).

The Trustees are satisfied that the Charity is in a strong position to fulfil its Charitable Objects going forward.

## **4. Financial management:**

The Trustees have published a set of selection criteria against which applications for funding are assessed (http://www.ttecf.org.uk/#selection-criteria).

The day to day operating costs of the Charity are extremely low. The Trustees have taken the decision that maintaining a financial reserve of £100 is prudent.

## **Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of The Trusted Executive Charitable Foundation (TTECF) a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (the CIO).**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the CIO for the year ended 5 April 2024.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the CIO’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner’s statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
