ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Roview of Actlvltles and Inc(Mne gene￿IOn
The centre opened for ts ￿ year on tst November 2023.
Once again, this year has been a series ¢A up and dNns for ttie centre. The Manager was ill
from February for a couple of months and left in June 2023. Ttrits left a large gap in the
Management of the Centre and Trustees are endeaV(￿ring to obtain funding ffom National
Lottery. The kitchenlcafé continue to try and Mnprove cUSt￿n but is still only operating Monday
to Friday throughout the year be￿en 09.30am and 2pm. It had been hoped that the café, wiLh
support from volunteers, would be able to open longer hours during the week and weekends.
The café continues to be popular within the commurmty but li is not generating enough income
lo be sustaingble. Various funding ￿13 has supported to some exlent and further efforts
continue to be made to try and keep rt open. indudin9 funding t4d for staff to National Lottery.
The funding for the Caretaker carne to an end in June 8ThJ the twj to the Lottery will include this
post loo, as well as 2 c8fé st8ff.
The Little Centre Management Board and the Diredors have been unat4e to have regular
meeting5 throughout the year bul have been in touch vi8 email & telephone and zoom
communication. Every effort is still being made to recrurt new Directors, wfth Emma Evans and
Stuart Wh￿inghaM reCen￿Y joining to support the remainin9 3 Directors, George Thomas, Lind8
Finn and Cathy Hawkins. There conts'nues to be a serious lack of volunteer5. which remans a
serious problem in the effort to increase projects, room hire and ¢ther activities.
Beechwood Playschem• continues to be a successful partnership with Wirral Borough Council.
The playscheme operates under a sepiica level agreernenl tefv4een Ihe Little Centre
Management Board and Wirral Counol. Last year Wirr81 Council made a £Sk contribution
toward the runnin9 costs. The Centre 18 looking for them to provide increased fund'ng due to
high Lrtility cost$ and the amounl of hours they utili3e the budding. Wirral Councll conts'nue to
pay the salary of Ihe three st8ff Ihat wn the playscheme at the ¢2ntre. There conth'nues to be
problems with staffing issues and they cannot guararrtee days of opening. Further discussions
are taking place in order to maintain this Fopular Playscheme at the Centre for the community.
The Lrttle Centre Management 8re looking towards a new service level agreern￿rt with
playscheme for the ts)mmencing financial year from 1st November 2024.

Again this year variou8 fundina Fots have ensured that drflerent adrvities have conlinu*J to
take Place. bLrt hopefully once new Managers and S&￿ are in ptxa it will continue to grow in
number and frequency aga'n.
Funding received throughout the year has ensured that the ￿ntre has been aile to remain
open.

Big Lottery was successful and fwst round of funding was received for nearfy £40k which
enabled the fir81 Manager to Start work in June and the second will be funded from Novernber
2024. Gerard the job share Manager emF4oyed slnce June 2024 has successfully applied for
funding in excess of £14.0(Kl.
The Food Larder is the c£ntre for the delrvery of food projects ￿th café provKling all meals. The
food larder opens Monday to Friday from 9am tiu 2pm, and is centre forthe delivery of funded
food projects and household essential rtems. They provided the utilitylshopping vouchers to our
most needy families ensuring that everyone was Ir￿Uded. Thèy once again provided g¢J)d
quality dried. tinned and fresh 14xd to local people on the basis of a donatron.

The fin8naal statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102. have ￿en
propar&l under the hisloriGqI cost convéntion. the Companies Act 2006, the Chanties Act 2011 and
'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommenaed Practice for Charities,
applicable to charlties preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financlal Repoitino Standard
applicable in the UK and Republ￿ ol Ireland (FRS 102) (effeGtsve 1 January 2019). The charity has
taken advantage of the discjosufe exemptlon in preparing Ihese f￿anCIal statements. as Formitted
by FRS 102. the requirements of S8CtK)n 7 Statement of Cash Flows.
The accounts are prepared in slerfing, which is the functional currency of the charity and monetary
amounts in these financial sL1tements are rounded to the nearest £.

lequate resources to continue in operattonal existenee for the foreseeable future. Thus tho tru$t•e8
