GOVERNANCE:
The CIO (Community Incorporated Organisation} was set up In May 2017 and officially took over
from Croft Village Hall Associatlon on the I" October 2017. All assets (bank accounts and the lease)
were transferred to the CIO from The Association which existed and ran the hall for over 30 years.
TRUSTEES:
The general management and control of the hall is the responsibility of the Trustees who reti￿ at
each AGM. There is no limit to the number of years in succession a Trustee may serve provided they
are duly re-elected each year. Anyone living in the area of benefit. 18 years and over May vote at the
AGM.
OBJEcfivES:
The objects of the CIO are to establish and run a village hall and to promote forthe benefit of the
inhabitants of the Parish of Croft on Tee5 (area of benefit) without distinrtion of Se￿ sexual
orientation. age• disability, nationality, ra￿ or political, religious or other opinions, the provision of
facilitie5 for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such
facllltles by reason of thelr youth, age, Infirmity of dlsablement, financial hardshlp or soclal and
economic clrcumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the
object of improving the conditions of lrfe of the said inhabitants of Croft and those from the
neighbouring communities of Hurworth Pla￿, Eryholme and Dalton amongst others.

THE VILLAGE HALL FAauTY: The new Hall which was constructed in 20191s a prefabricated
modular design which Is expected to last approximately 30 years.
The new lease signed in 2019 with our Landlords the Croft Estste Settlement 1996 is 25 years.
The Trustees and a group of volunteers look after the facility on behalf of the village. It is well
supported by the village and surroundlng areas.
Some of the Events which took place during the year were: Poker, quiz and race nights, Halloween
party and Coronation Day party.

The remalning reserves of £21,375 have been designated to pay the ongoing overheads. future
rna1ntenan￿ and malntaining an emergency operating reserve.
The Reseprfes are safeguarded and held in separate accounts In the name of Croft-on-Tees
Community Village Hall. Any withdrawals or payments require 2 authorised signatures.

THE NEW VILLAGE HALL PROJECr:
During the year ended 30 September 2024 our main focus is to maintsin a healthy bank balan
during times of uncertain energy price increases.
GOING FORWARD-WHAfs NE￿r.
I. SPORTS DPrfELOPMENT- Further develop activities in Ilne with Sport England as part of
the funding criteria for the new village hall, allowing greater access to exercise and
wellbeSng facilities within the local community.
2. BUILD UP RESERVES- Provide for future Maintenan￿ and the renewal of the building
in approximately 30 years.

RESPEcfivE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND THE EXAMINER:
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts In accordance with
the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act,).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trusvs accounts carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all applicable Directions given bythe
Charity Commission under sectlon 145(51{bl of the Act.
INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS STATEMENT
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any materlal respect:
l. the accounting records were not kept In accordan￿ wlth section 130 of the Charitie5 ACL. or
2. the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
3. the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the forni and content of
accounts set out In the Charltles (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2CMJ8 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and falrf vlewwhlch Is not a matter considered as part of
an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connectlon wlth the examination to
which attention Should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
