## **1. Charity Details** 

Charity name: Langford Community and Sports Association 

Charity status: Unincorporated association 

Charitable purpose: To provide, maintain, and promote community and sports facilities for the benefit of residents in Langford and the surrounding area. 

Principal address: The Pavillion, The Wirr, Steeple Langford, Salisbury, SP3 4ND

## **2. Objectives and Activities** 

The Association exists to support community wellbeing by providing accessible, affordable facilities for sport, recreation, and local events. 

During the year, the trustees focused on: 

- - Maintaining and improving the community and sports facilities 

- - Supporting local clubs, groups, and residents to use the space 

- - Strengthening governance, financial oversight, and volunteer involvement 

- - Ensuring the site remained safe, welcoming, and compliant with relevant regulations 



## **3. Achievements and Performance** 

Key achievements during the year included: 

- - Continued operation of the sports field and community spaces 

- - Hosting community events and supporting local organisations 

 - Beginning work on trustee recruitment to broaden skills and representation The trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty to have regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. LCSA provides open access to outdoor space, supports physical activity, and offers facilities for community use, benefiting residents of all ages. 

## **5. Financial Review** 

The Association maintained a stable financial position during the year. 

Income sources: 

- - Fundraising and Donations 

- - Event fees from community groups 

- - Local support where applicable 

Expenditure included: 

- - Grounds maintenance and utilities 

- - Insurance and compliance costs 

- - Repairs and essential equipment 

The trustees continue to monitor finances closely and aim to build a modest reserve to ensure sustainability. 

## **6. Structure, Governance and Management** 

LCSA is governed by a volunteer trustee board in accordance with its constitution. Trustees are appointed through nomination and approval at committee meetings or the AGM. 

During the year, the trustees focused on: 

- - Strengthening governance processes 

- - Reviewing policies and procedures 

- - Improving transparency and communication 

- - Addressing gaps in trustee capacity and skills 



## **7. Plans for the Future** 

Priorities for the coming year include: 

- - Recruiting additional trustees to strengthen governance 

- - Improving facilities and exploring funding opportunities 

- - Enhancing community engagement and increasing usage of the site 

- - Continuing to modernise administrative and financial processes 

- - Developing a clearer long-term vision for the site and its role in the community
