Healing Hooves Devon 1172922 Trustee report 23/24
In February 2023 we moved to a new yard comprising of 50 acres , 20+ stables and various out- buildings. The whole place needed much work a lot of fencing had to be replaced and there was several tonnes of rubbish and weeds to clear.
In this period we helped 2 ponies and re homed 1, sadly we lost two due to illness and age related issues , vet present for both.
After much deliberation we decided to close our shop in Moretonhampstead due to a sharp rise in rent and it being over an hour away. But intend to find another shop in Bampton which is 2 miles away from base.
At our new base we were able to hold over 400 equine assisted learning sessions with children and young adults including a visit from the YMCA residents. We took a pony to Oaktree House in Bampton to visit adults with learning disabilities which was very successful.
Last winter was a record wet one but we managed to get through with minimal issues , 2 cases of mud fever . our vet commented on the very good condition of all horses and ponies.
All in all it has been a good year , we are looking into finding a bid writer and hope to raise more funds.
