Trustees Report 2022/2023

During this period we managed to rescue 3 ponies , Pumpkin a Dartmoor hill pony gelding who we collected from Dorset. Toffee another Dartmoor hill pony mare who came to us very frightened and aggressive, Her empathetic training is ongoing. Strawberry a miniature Shetland gelding who has metabolic issues.

After a successful home-check Pumpkin was rehomed quite quickly to a friend of a friend and now has a perfect loan home with contract.

Sadly we said goodbye to Dolly a gypsy cob who had ringbone arthritis and we could not control pain relief anymore and after a chat with our vet we came to the decision.

This year we had a very hot summer and had to get all horses and ponies in everyday during the day out of the heat , this incurred a lot more work but our priority is always the interest of our equines.

On the 8[th] December Lucy Culverhouse received the Ken Cranage award from HAPPA in recognition of dedication and services to equine welfare.

We were able to host a number of sessions with children and young adults during this period , including visits from the YMCA and the young adults they care for , also we worked with children with disabilities and persons from the LBGTQIA community.

During this period the shop has been busy and productive , we also had a member of staff selling items online which boosted our income.

In October 2022 we found new premises to rent in Mid Devon , a farm with 50 acres and 20+ stables we gave our current landlord 4 months notice (Moving February 2023)
