Section C Ob"ectives and activities Forest of Dean Dog Rescue is a registered charity supported by likeminded people, dedicated to rescuing unwanted andlor abandoned dogs in the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas. These dogs are given necessary veterinary treatment, vaccinated and neutered, before being rehomed to carefully checked homes. The focus of our activities revolves around fundraising and awareness of the plight of the many unwanted and badly treated dogs in the area. In planning our activities for the year, Forest of Dean Dog Rescue kept in mind the Charity Commissions guidance on public benefit. Obtain, collect and receive money or funds by contributions, bequests, donations, grants and fundraising activities. Our fundraising activities include, Dog shows Chocolate bingo Psychic nights Harvest festival Raffles Grant application Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include wlthln this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guldance issued by the Charity Commission on publlc benefit) These events raise the funds needed to facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs in the Forest of Dean. We provide a dog foodbank Servi￿ for local families who are struggling to provide food for their dogs in the Forest of Dean. We also provide help towards outstanding veterinary fees for dogs that are subsequently signed over to us. Addltlonal detslls of objectlves and actlvlties (Optlonal Informatlon) A great contribution is made by volunteers, in fostering dogs, assisting at events, home checking potential homes and exercising our kennelled dogs. Without this valuable contribution of time, energy and expertise we would not have been able to achieve so much. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year 2024 has continued to be busy for FODDR 51 dogs came into our care in 2024. We rehomed 46 dogs. 5 went to other rescues and we now have 23 dogs in long term foster. We have helped a few cases where owners needed help paying unexpected veterinary fees. again this is an ongoing problem especially with the steep rise in veterinary fees country wide. We held our 2nd Angel's Bark in the Park at Speech House, this year it was even more successful, attended by well over a thousand people. We were blessed with good weather, which made it busier that last years show. We also held our ever popular chocolate bingo, psychic nights, Christmas wreath making and held online raffles, which are very popular. We continue to take the Forest of Dean District Council strays if they are unclaimed after 7 days. TAR March 2012
