Forest of Dean Dog Rescue is a registered charity supported by like
minded people, dedicated to rescuing unwanted andlor abandoned dogs
in the Forest of Dean and s￿￿ounding area.
These dogs are given and necessary medical Ireatrnent, vaccinated and
neutered, befo￿ being rehomed to carefully ¢hecked homes.
The fo¢us of our activiti'es revolves around fundraising and awareness of
the plight of the many unwanted and badty treated dogs and puppies in
the area.

These events raise the fijnds needed to facilitate the rescue,
rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs in the Forest of Dean.
We provide a dog foodbank seprfice for local families who are struggling
to provide fo¢xl for their dogs. We also provide help towards outstanding
veterinary fees for dogs that are subsequently signed over into our Care.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
2023 has continued to be busy for FODDR.
56 dogs came Into our care in 2023. We rehomed 53 dogs, 3 went to
other rescues. we now have 22 dogs in long temi foster. We have helped
a few of Cases where owners needed help paying unexpected veterinary
fees, thF5 is something that is becoming sadly more common
2023 saw our first Angel's Bark in the pa￿ at Speeth House, a very
successful everrt attended by over 1 OW p80ple. We also held a Harvest
Festival, Howlaween Dog Show. Chocolate Bingo, Psychic Night,
Christmas Market, and our Chnstmas Dinner Dance. We launched our
online raffles on social media which have been very popular.
We continue to take on the Forest of Dean Distrid Council strays if they
are unclaimed after their 7 days.

Funds held in reseNes are made up of restncted funds (Cavalier Welfare
Grant) and six months working Capt￿1.
We carry forward extra reserves at year end to cover our costs until our
main fundraising adivities commence in the Spring.

The welfare and wellbeing of the dogs in our care is of paramount
importance. Our vets provide the highest standard of veterinary care, and
share our welfare values. Providing these dogs wrth th8 correct nutrition
is equally important. expenditure in these areas is kèy in us achieving our
welfare oi¥'ectives.
