Through the dedication of our team, trustees, partners, and volunteers, Boomerang Cardrff has delivered lrfe-saving
assistance. strengthened community resilience. and further established itself as a leading force for good in IAlales.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the
financial statements and comply wtth the Chariws governing document. the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting
and Reporting by Charities: Slalement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
aco?rdance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102)"
(effective 1 January 2019).

pack contains a bed for every bedroom, a sofa, wardrobelchest of drawers a bedside tsble, kettle, toaster and a
Boomerang starter pack that would consisl of plales. cups, dishes. crockery and utensils.
In Wort( Poverty
This can be with a piece of fumiture for themselves or their thildren. White goods, electrical items, dothing or any
other support they may need. There are certain grants and pots available to people who claim benefits to obtain
fumiture that is simply not available for anybody who is suffering the ttardship of'ln work poverty.. When something
breaks it can be incredibly stressful living without that item until next payday, especially rf there are dependants in
the household.

We offer support and encouragement to try and get people out by inviting them to coffee rnomings. local groups.
activitylfun days as well as the option of volunteering.
Community Engag8menfEducation
Supporting local schools and community groups in the Cardiff area. Children have engaged in asSembl￿S aimed al
educating them about povety with the strains and hardships that some people face. We run activitylfun days held in
the school holidays for local disadvantaged children. We are also running a 'Period Poverty Projed. which provides
FREE sanitary products to schools and community groups.
Sportthlealth &Wellbeing
Encouraging exercise through a range of sporting activities from foolball lo dodgeball whilst promoting a healthy
eating lrfestyle. We run a range of afterschool physical activities for the local community.

Reseryes policy
It is the policy of the Charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained at an adequate level equivalent to between on8 and three month's expenditure. The Trustees consider
that reserves at this level will ensu￿ that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to Continue
the Charitys current activities while ¢onsideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This
level of reserves has been maintsined throughout the year.

The Trustees. who are also the directors of Boomerang Cardiff for the pU￿oSe of company law, are responsible for
preparing the Tnjstees. Report and the financial statements in accordan￿ with applicable law and United Kingdom
Accounting Standards {United lfjngdom GeneraltyAccepted Accounting Practice}.
Company law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a twe and fair
view of the slate of affairs of the Charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the
income and expendilure. of the charitable company for that year.
In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required lo:
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently-
- observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP;
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
State whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any material departures
disdosed and explained in the financial statements- and
prepare the financial slaternents on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume Ihat the Charity
will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuraGy at

I report lo the Trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Boomerang Cardiff {the Charity) for the
year ended 31 December 2024.

As the Trustees of the Charity (and also ils directors for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for the
preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.
Having satlsfied rnyself that the financial slalements of the Charity are not required lo be audited under Part 16 of
the Companies Act 2006 and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my exarninalion of Ihe

Charity infonnation
Boomerang Cardiff is a Charitable Incorporated Organisalion regist8red in England and Wales with the
Charity's Commission. The registered office is Unit 5, Templar Park Industrial Estate. Easl Moors Road,
Cardiff. CF24 SEW.
1.1 Accountlng convenllon
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charity's goveming document, the
Companies Ad 2006, FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland" {'FRS 102.) and the Charities SORP "A¢¢ounting and Reporting by Charities.. Slalement of
Recornmended Practice applicable to tharities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) {effective 1 January 2019). The
Charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The Charty has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a Statement of
Cash Flows.
The financial statemenls are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the Charity. Monetary
amounts in these financial stalements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have be8n prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting
policies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Golng concern
At the time of approving the financial statements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity
has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the Trustees
continue lo adopt the golng ¢on¢em basis of a¢¢ounting in preparing the financial stalemenls.
1.3 Charitsble fund$
Unrestricted funds are available for use al the dis¢relion of the Twstees in lurtherance of their ¢haritsble
objectives.
Restricted funds are subject to specrfic condiiions by donors or grantors as 1¢ how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.
Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital musl be maintained by the
Charity.
1A Income
InMme is recognised when the Charity is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been
met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probabl8 that income will be r8C8ived.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the Charity has been notified
of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in
relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the lime of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise if the Charity has been notified of an impending distribution.

1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer e¢onomi¢ benefit to a
third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic beneffts will be required in settlement. and the amount of
the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure is ¢18ssified by activity. The costs of each adivty are made up of the lotal of direct costs and
shared Costs, induding support costs involved in undertaking each adivity. Dir8Ct costs attribulable lo a single
activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs which contribute to more Ihan one adivity and
support costs which are not attributsble to a single a¢tivty are apportioned between those activities on a basis
consistent with the us8 of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on thè basis of time spent, and
depre¢ialion charges are alloe2ted on the portion of the asset's use.
1.6 Tangible flxed assets
Tangible fixed assels are initialty measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of
depreciation and any impairment losses.
Depre¢ialion is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their
useful lives on the following bases..

The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference be￿8&n the sale proceeds
and the Carrying value of the asset. and is reojgnised in the statement of financial activities.
1.7 Fixed asset investments
Fixed asset investments are initialty measured al transadion price excluding transaction costs, and are
subsequently measured at fair value at each reporting date. Changes in fair value are re¢ognised in net
in¢omel<expenditure) for the year. Transaction costs are expensed as incurred.
A subsidiary is an entity controlled by the Charity. Control is the power to govern the financial and operating
policies of the entity so as to obtain beneffts from its activities.
1.8 Impalnnent of fixed assets
At each reporting end date, the Charity reviews the Carrying amounts of its tangible assets to detem)ine
whether there is any indication that those assets have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication
exists, the re¢ov8rable amounl of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairmenl
loss (if any).
1.9 Sto¢ks
stocks are stated at the lower of cost and eslimated selling pri¢e less costs to complete and sell. Cost
comprises direct materials and, where applicable, direct labour costs and those overheads that have been
incurred in bringing the stocks to their present location and condition. Items held for distribution at no or
nominal consideration are measured the lower of replacement Cost and cost.
Net realisable value is the eslimated selling price less all estimated Costs of ¢ompletion and costs to be
incurred in marketing, selling and distributton.
1.10 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks. other short-term liquid
investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
within borrowings in Gu￿ent liabilities.

1.11 Financial instruments
The Charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Ba5ic Financial Instruments, and Section 12
'other Financial Instruments Issuos, of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the Charity's balance sheet when the Charity becornes party to the
ntractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset. with the net amounts presented in the financial statements. when
there is a legally enforceable right lo set off the recognised amounts and there is an intention lo settle on a net
basis or to realise the asset and settle the liability simuNaneously.
Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at
transaction price induding transaction costs and are subsequentty carried at amortised cost using the effective
interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is
measured at the preser)t value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interesl. Financial assets
Classified as receivable wilhin one year are not amortised.
Basic financlal Ilabilities
Basic financial liabilities, including Creditors and bank loans are initially recognised at transaction price unless
the arrangement Gonstilutes a financing Iransadion, where the debt instrumenl is measured at the present
value of thè futur8 payments discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable
within one year are not amortised.
Debt instruments are subsequently ¢arried at amortised cost, using Ihe effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of
operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are dassrfied as current liabilities if payment is due within one
year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Tradè creditors are recognised initially at
transaction price and sub5equenlty measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
Dereeognltlon of financial liabilities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the Charity's contractual obligations expire or are discharged or
cancelled.
1.12 Employee beneflts
The cost of any unused holiday entitlement is recognised in the period in whith the employee's serVI￿S are
received.
Termination benefrts are recognised immediately as an expense when the Charity is demonstrably committed
to terminate the employment of an employee or to provide termination benefits.
1.13 Leases
Leases are classified as finance leases whenever the terms of the lease transfer substantially all the risks and
