FEAST WITH US (CHARITY NO: 1172884) TRUSTEES REPORT The trustees present their report and accounts for the year to 31 December 2020. Due to the pandemic 2020 was a momentous year for everyone but lor FEAST it was exceptional. When the country locked down on March 23Id we could have pèused our activitie5 due to the social nalure of volunteers cooking and eating our FEASTS together. Instead, we realised the need for our service was greater than ever and so we changed our processes completely overnight to make them socially safe and quickly obtained status from the councils where we were operating to be deemed an essential service so that we could ramp up our activities. Demand grew rapidly and soon we were in over a dozen sites atross four London boroughs. By the end of the year we had made and distributed some 25,OCM) food parcels, a ten-fold growth over the previous year. The number of volunteers and partners who we worked with. not to mention the number of vulnerable people reached and the amount of surplus food saved from going to Waste all increased similorly. The increase in our charitable attivities had a larBe financial impact. Fortunately we started the year with healthy reseNes in our balance sheet. This enabled us to take on extra staff to manage the bur8eoning workload as soon as the country went into lockdown. But. as our operating costs grew, we hod to start fundraising muth more seriously, not an easy task when the world had locked down. Yet here too we were successful. so that by the end of the year our reserves had actually grown in absolute terms. The ke fi ures are as follows: 2019 2020 24.778 £65.696 £.051 £70,2Q3 NOTES almost tenfold mostl new donors Growth 842% 167% 112% 24% -53% Number of meals Costs Income Reserves at le Reserves months 2,629 £24.586 £37,722 £56,572 15 rowth extra st3ffin necessa new 6month ta et since 2020 Looking ahead, as the world hopefully comes out of lockdown, the need for FEAsfs services is not going to diminish. In fact demand is continuing to grow at a great rate so we expect to at least treble the number of meals we make. In addition, we are rolling out a nutrition education programme and, funding pefmittinE. embark on a major research project into malnutrition amongst vulnerable communities. Our final major goal is to return to the community-building way5 where the volunteers and participants can took and eat FEASTS together again.
