Euston Foodbank 1172880 was registered 3td May 2017 and is a food bank
operating under the Trussell Trust umbrella, where volunteers redistribute donated
food to people in need in our community around the Euston mainline station in the
London borough of Camden.
Emergency food packages are provided to people for vouchers or letters from the
agency supporting them, such as citizens advice, support workers, job centre, social
services and churches.
Euston Foodbank has grown very rapidly since lockdown in 2020 in response to
increasing need in the community as you can see in the statistics which follow. We
need now to consolidate our procedures and infrastructure.

Trustees keep in contact to oversee and progress Euston Foodbank. We have
appointed a Fundraiserlsocial Media staff member with a Trussell Trust grant.
Greening the playground area at the front has been completed, and improvements
made at the back towards eventual use by the school next door for gardening
projects with supeniised non exam post 16 pupils, with Treasury funding via the HS2
community fund. We have been given a large electric van. Our three year lease on
Phoenix Road was renewed in 2025.
The foodbank has retained grade 5 (highest) from the local authority food hygiene
inspection, and the Trussell Trust plan a Quality Assurance in De￿Mber. A Fire
Safety assessment has been made with compliance being managed by Helena.

Measures for Safeguarding and Data protection are in place. We will put a Record of
Pro￿SSIng Activity in place.
Bank accounts: The Foodbank has two connected bank accounts, one current and
the other for savings with higher interest in which we keep at least £72K as a six
month reserve to cover salaries, operating costs and redundancy payments should
these be necessary. We require two signatures for expenditure. Policies for Financial
Controls and for Reserves will be produced. £47,938 was transferred from the
Savings to the Current account during 202412025.
MembershiD of the foodbank is the current distribution session volunteers who have
completed an application form with two referees. The list is compiled from the social
media groups in which their availability is indicated on a weekly basis, Volunteers
can therefore be notified of meeting, but we will produce a procedure paper to put
membership on a clear basis in future.

s on the last Monday of the month were begun in July 2025 to
support the Manager, We continue to share our premises with Food for All U.K.
Current decisions to put before the General Meetings are:
a) Only foodbank related meetings to be held on the premises, no community
meetings
b) Only foodbank items to be stored in foodbank areas, from 2026
c) Books to be cleared from the west classroom
d) No further development of back garden except with Maria Fidelis School.
Euston Foodbank (EFB) supports a rolling number of over 400 households a week
equating to a thousand people week, 60,000 pa[￿lS a year. We still distribute the
majority of food parcels in Carnden Borough and are the largest Trussell Trust
foodbank in London, the third largest in the UK.
The ongoing reduction in donations continued to be noticeable and concerning
during the summer months - there is just not the level of prosperity. This has meant
we have relied even more on our three main charities.. Foodbank Aid, City Harvest
and Felix. and in addition we rely on corporate donations to buy food.
The main reasons 840/0 of people attended the foodbank are financial difficulty and
the cost of living. A third of our clients are still homeless people. Whereas before
lockdown the average household visited twice, now it is 4 times, as poverty leaves
them nowhere else to turn. Two in five Camden children are growing up in povety,
despite their parents being in employment.
Like many others, we would like to see the need for foodbanks phased out as soon
as austerity permits. We have begun to make referrals to Fuelbank for vouchers for
gas and electricity for clients struggling to put money on their pre-payment meters.

We have over 55 volunteers for our 4 weekly sessions and have held training
recruitment events to keep their numbers up. Heartfelt thanks go to them, to our
donors - of goods, food and funds - to our volunteer drivers, clothesbank volunteers,
providers of advice and health, and to trustees and staff. We could not function
without you all.
