The main reason people attend foodbanks Is income. 56%. wilh benefft charges and
delays the next most common reason at 2￿kn. There has been some movement fr￿n ￿ngle
homeless 150A to more children in bigger families from estates and refugee hotels. Half our
clients are still homeless people.
We have around 40 volunteers for our 4 weekty Se￿￿$ and have held training recruitmenl

The impending energy and cost of IlvlrKJ crisis on top of povety from the austerity

We are open foul times a week, and feed over one thousand dients per week. Last year
202>2024 we fed a record 57,(KKI people. This year, the figure is likely to exceed 60.OLM).
This 15 the limrt of people we can feed. and we have started to have to tum clients away
when our numbers ex￿ed 100 on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. and eX￿ed$ IEilon
Tuesday5. This is regrettable, but it does mean that we are able to regular￿ feed over I,(MX)
people a week. wlthout runnlng out of essential foodstuffs.
Our clients remain a diverse group of people. we have a large number of street homeless
and refugees in hostels without cooking facilities. We also have a si8nificant number of
elderly people who are using our services. We also have local families with several children.
Lo8lstlcs
We are currently supported by Food Bank Aid, who give us approx. 2 tonnes of food a week,
accounting for £250,000 of food.
We are also 5UPPOrted by Felix 8(Kikg per week and fjty Harvest I tonne of food per week.
Clty Harvest glve us a lot of fruit and veg and some ready meals, meat and dairy products.
and Foodbank aid give us some Fruit and veg and a lot of ambient food, so our dients get a
more balanced diet. We also spend approximatety £8,1)J>£IO,C(Kl per week on food.
We have also been using Fell￿5 multibank, but we are unsure rf it is expedient to contlnue
to do so.
Volunteers
Volunteers are the lrfeblood of Euston Foodbank. We have around 50 volunteers. who cover
the four sessions. Training of new volunteers tskes Pla￿ every 6-8 weeks. to ensu￿ we
always have enough people to run a session, - we need a minimum of 10 people.
Corporate Support
In line with other Charities, V￿ made a decision to charge for our corporate volunteers.
This has worked well. with only a few companies not able to pay the fee. Wewaive the fee
for educational establishments such as Maria Fidelis school, Kings College, UCL And

companies who have given us large or regular donations in the past- Watches of
Switserland, G-Re5earch, BMJ.
We have two cornpanies, Trade desk and Wa55erman music, who come and do on evening
session once a month.- Trade Desk support us with donations, and Wasserman Muslc have
donated £51JJ).
This seems to be working well, we have built up a small but constant stream of fundi
nearly enough to pay for our oirtBoin8s on fo¢XI.
We realised that applylng for.fundlng is a significant role in Itself, and we are planning to
employ a part tlme fundraiser as well as a part-tlme sodal medlalsesslons cwrdinator due
to a large grant from the Trussell Trust.
JJ

Supportlng clients
In addition to having acce55 to food, our dients have access to different types of suP￿rt
whlle they are at the foodbank:
Citizens Advice twice a Month
Age Concern once a month
Clothes Bank- once a week on dlfferent days
Health professionals doing vaccinations. blood pressure height and weight checks.

Volunteersll tasty snacks.
Cancer Screening advi￿ for older clients.
