## **ANNUAL REPORT 2022/2023**

This Annual Report covers the period 1/9/22 to 31/8/23. It was approved by the members at the Annual General Meeting held on 23rd November 2023.

## 1. **INTRODUCTION**

Our constitution sets out the objectives to advance the education of pupils by: developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with Dallington School; and engaging in activities or providing facilities/equipment to support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

## **Administration**

FoD was registered as a charity on 5/4/17. The financial year runs from 1st September to 31st August. This report covers the period from 1/9/22 to 31/8/23. FoD will be run according to official charity guidelines, with annual reports and accounts submitted to and held on file by the Charity Commission. FoD benefits from the support and services offered by the Charity Commission.

## **Personnel**

Committee members were Lucy Clark (Co-Chair), Amy Blier-Carruthers (Co-Chair), Daniela Seifermann (Treasurer), Marenka Gabeler (Secretary), Alex Hesse (Secretary), Susana Marin (Secretary)

## **2. FINANCIAL SUMMARY**

For the year 1/9/22 to 31/8/23, total net income was £3965 and total net expenditure was £4032 versus £147 and £415 the previous year. Reserves were £8805 at 31/8/23, down from £8873 at 1/9/22.

## **3. COMMUNITY EVENTS**

Events were all back on, after a hiatus during the pandemic.

## **4. FUNDRAISING**

Fundraising events were welcomed back after the pandemic. Due to the size of the school, and lack of willing volunteers, fundraising efforts have been scaled back. There is no longer a fete, but we have resumed twice-termly bake sales. The children designed a tea towel, which went into production and parents were able to make a donation to FoD in exchange for a towel - a great success. FoD also held its first ever auction. We received donations from members of the school community, these included photographs, drawings, painting and books. We will hold another next year based on the success of this one. Reserves were sufficient to fund community events for the 2022/23 academic year, and remain sufficient to fund similar events for the 2023/24 year.

## **OTHER FUNDRAISING**

Unfortunately the AmazonSmile programme has closed down, leading to a loss for that additional income stream. In an effort to offset that, Friends of Dallington has applied for and been accepted to claim gift aid. We hope to see the fruits of that labour in next year’s accounts.

## **5. DONATIONS**

Where possible, FoD donates some of its fundraising proceeds each year to Dallington School. For the period 1/9/2022 - 31/8/2023 Friends of Dallington donated £2477 compared to £0 1/9/2021 - 31/8/2022
