2021/2022 has been another successful year for preschool fundraising.
Total amounts raised by the committee and ongoing fundraising schemes so far:
10k (2021): £997.66 Amazon Smile: £88.19 Charitable donations: £2283.72 (including grants and Tesco grant) Chew Moos Event: £1577.79 Easy fundraising: £146.38 Jubilee: £463.61 Lottery: £461 10k 2022: £788.60 Salt & Malt curry: £1240 Xmas Raffle: £852.93 Xmas cards: £285
Bringing total raised so far to £9184.88
Despite this fantastic fundraising achievement, it’s important to stress that we may only just succeed in breaking even this year.
Our total income this year so far has been £109,305.91 and total expense so far is £97,343.41, with another two months remaining in the financial year. Taking into account the cost of wages for July and August, we can predict that our total spending will be in excess of £110,000, compared to a total expenditure of £94,945.98 last year. We can expect some income from BANES over the summer and fundraising efforts are ongoing.
Rent has increased by x amount, and the costs of general supplies including learning resources, play equipment and food has increased. We were pleased to offer a much needed living wage increase of 6.6% to all members of staff as of April 2022, which does mean however mean that spending on wages is greater. As a result, an increase of 20p per hour for both the children’s fees and consumables was agreed and fees have been set for £5.30 per hour as of September 2022. The administration fee will also be increased to £30 per child in line with other local nurseries. Hopefully this increase will ease the financial strain in the 2022/2023 academic year.
The bank account total currently stands at £46,151.12, so there is some safety net there.
