Dissenters Arts N16 was established by members of a local choir, Chorus of Dissent, and relies mainly on financial contributions from members of the choir, trustees and their contacts, collections at concerts, and fundraising social events.

Ruth Whitehead, who through Ruth Whitehead Associates is the principal sponsor of Chorus of Dissent, is also a trustee of Dissenters Arts N16.

The main activity of the Charity during the period was the facilitation of engagement in music and the arts.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Following the announcement of forthcoming closure of Sir Thomas Abney Primary School, our cooperation with this school could not continue as anticipated and our activity was much reduced during the year.

Our main expenditure was contributing to facilitating a recording by a group of local young musicians.

Total funds raised in the period were £742, including £139 from Gift Aid. These were mainly collected through CAF Donate.

Expenditure on projects and grants was £1,000.

Administrative costs were £79, corresponding to bank and payment provider fees.

The charity had a cash balance of £7,882 on 31 Aug 2025, compared to of £8,202 the year before.
