2024 was an cxtr¢mely busy one, not only in tenns of a very high level of usage of
thc Hall, but also in tenns of building improvement. The I lall was closed for a period
of 3 to 4 weeks in the springtime in order for some rndjor building work ￿ be carried
out. The existing porch was completely refurbished inside and out together with new
entrance doors. Internal Ste￿ w¢re replaced by a ramp with handrails into a newly
created lobby, with a doorway into the library and doublc fire doors into the main
Iiall. Access is now much better for thosc with limited mobility coming to the Hall.
A new fire alarm system was installed, and the intruder alarni was updated.
Volunteers carried out painting work to the new and refurbished arcas. The work cost
approximately £20000 - good value for money achieved in no sniall part thanks to
good discounts on many of the materials and the work being carried out by our usual
trusted trader. Just over £IOOOO of the cost was funded by grants, the remainder
coming froni our own resources.
Caretul stewardship of the finances by our treasurer hclps to ensure that our
organisation remains financially sound. Th¢ outgoings in 2024 cxc¢¢dd ¢h¢ income
due to gTants received in 2023 being spent in 2024. Income from regular hirings:
parties and other 'one off bookings, together with committee fundraising and events.
ensure that the Hall and all its activities remain sustainable.
The heart of Milnsbridgc Village Hall is its band of volunteers who carry out huge
amounts of work and activity - maintaining the building, its grounds, community
orchard and community garden, organising food collection for the local food banks,
running the library, maintaining the website and providing publicity, facilitating the
paty bookings and othcr bookingèi, running stalls, organising events, providing a
Christmas Dinner, jam making, cake baking, taking bookings, managing the
finances,carrying out admin and compliance tasks. The list is huge, sthne will have
been missed
apologies for that. Any that hav¢ been miss¢d is bccause the
volunteers j￿t get on with it, without fuss or drama. - Thank you all. - Everything
you do is appreciated.
Our Objectives as set out in our Constitution and registered with the Charity
Commission are
l . To establish or secure the establishment of a con]munity
2. Promotc for th¢ inhabitants of Milnsbridge and neighbourhood, working with
the local authority, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort
to advance education to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare
t.or recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the

conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The Trustees consider that we are achieving and exceeding the objects of our
constitution.
As rnentioned previously this is only made possible by a fantastic group of
individuals who fit together to make a great tcam, who make sure that Milnsbridgc
Village Hall continues to thrive and develop.

own on Christmas Day
7. The friendship and crafting gTOUP continucs to thrivc
8. A wann, comfortable, welcoming space is provided for anyone coming to the
Village Hall for whatever Purpose
9. A number of local organisations have used the building for theirAGMs
10.Provision of a space for hire for children's and family parties

Both current account and deposit account balances are down this year because we had structural work done to the hall, and we had to close to all users for a month while this was being carried out.

Responslbllltles and basis of report
As the charity trustees of Milnsbridge Village Hall you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Milnsbridge Village Hall accounts carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
Directions given by the Charity Commission under sectlon 145(5){bl of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention In
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in respect of Milnsbridge Village Hall as required by
section 130 of the Act,, or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report In order to enable a proper understanding of the
