The trustees are pleased to present their report for 2024.

Income from bookings was £3249, much higher than 2023 (£1282). The Centre now has a number of regular users as well as bookings for parties, meetings etc. We are keen to promote new users.

The main running costs continue to be utilities and insurance. We switched insurance provider this year saving around £700. We now have a regular cleaner which has added to our costs but is considered essential to keep the Centre in good condition. We have received grants from Hunsonby Parish Council and the Hutchinson Trust which are much appreciated.

The major project this year was to replace the metal fence. This cost £9494 and was funded by grants and reserves. A loan was needed to manage cash flow. (There is no cost for the loan, it has partly been repaid and will be fully repaid shortly.) No further major projects are anticipated.

At the year-end we held reserves of £1645. We expect to rebuild reserves in the coming year now that the building work is complete.

The Jubilee Garden continues to be maintained by Chris and Jas, for which our thanks. A representative of Cumbria Wildlife Trust visited recently and is considering helping us to plant more wildflowers to attract pollinators.

We received a photograph of King Charles from the government: it is on display in the original entrance hall.

We held a second successful Plant Sale and plan to do the same again in 2025 on 10[th] May. We have discussed other fund raising events, but nothing is planned at present.

We are grateful to all our supporters, to the local community, and for the continuing support of Hunsonby Parish Council and the Joseph Hutchinson Educational Trust.

We welcomed Kelly Radcliffe to the committee this year and are grateful to Kelly for work on promoting the Centre.
