Annual report 2021- 2022

It’s constitution states it is a charity to support the community, providing activities to the area to help social isolation, reduce anti social behaviour and encourage community enhancement and engagement.

Our GAP triangle and statement mission is; - Goals, Achievements, Participation!

The trustees are made up of a small group of people who are enthusiastic about local community and community participation. Gap supported families throughout the difficult times of the pandemic, and delivered HAF funded projects throughout outside in the summer in varied parks, and during the winter, October, Christmas and Easter holidays in well ventilated inside environments. Recognising that our seniors have also been a part of the community suffered difficulties of the pandemic, affecting both mental and physical health. We decided to restart our Seniors afternoon tea’s. The chance for those who have been socially isolated in the pandemic to meet with others in the community, chat, get in touch with support and just have an enjoyable afternoon out. Ultimately we want to enable intergenerational activities, helping the young and seniors to gain from each other!

Chair’s Report - Kim Coe

A difficult year, but with an improving worldwide situation, we started to look for opportunities to deliver programmes. We seized the opportunity to be able to deliver a summer programme throughout the parks funded by Derbyshire County Council HAF programme. These was a great success with everyone so pleased to be out In the open engaging In crafts and sports. We themed each week, which was very well received by the young people and parents and carers. We worked closely with Children’s services and the schools to let people know It was on, and was supported by our County Councillors.

We received some funding to deliver football training for fun around the local area, to engage those often overlooked for sports and give them the opportunity to engage and build up confidence . Thanks to County Councillors Gary Musson and David Muller

We celebrated Christmas, spring half term with a craft and fun games sessions, It was great to welcome back returning young people and welcome new. These sessions was at varied venues. Easter was an outdoor session again lots of sports and a picnic.

Lots of time was spent engaging with the community group funding enabler at South Derbyshire CVS, we managed to secure some funding to help engage with the community.

DONORS, SPONSORS & SUPPORTERS

We have had a great group of volunteers who gave up their time freely to allow our activities to happen, they turned up with friendly faces and offered support throughout this year.

Not to forget anyone else who contributed along the way!

-Report and presentation of annual account for 2020-2021

This is the report for the 2020-2021, funds are made up primarily by funding and donations. None of the trustees have been paid or claimed any expenses for their work within the charity, in fact the trustees have invested heavily into the charity this year.

The Charity has been supported with funding from South Derbyshire CVS to, Derbyshire County Council (local County Councillors and HAF funding)to support the youth and help develop and engage and Swadlincote Festival of Transport CIO, to help work in the community to increase community engagement and reduce anti social behaviour. We have also had funding from Foundation Derbyshire for support for seniors support.

The money for all community projects was spent with care and we hope to have helped some of the community to have a more enjoyable time.
