The purpose of Scouting is to promote the development of
young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual,
social and spiritual potentials. as individuals, as responsible
citizens and as members of their local, national and
international communities.

The Scout Method
The Scout Method provides an enjoyable and attractive
scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise
and Law. which is guided by adult leadership. In practice the
method is best seen when young people. in partnership with
adults. are:

participating in varied and progressive activities-
making choices forthemselves.,
taking responsibility for their ownactions-
working in groups-

Thetrustees havecomplied with their duty to have due regard

The Group has undertaken Scouting activity for the benefit of
young people in the Hallow area and surrounding villages to
the west of Worcester.
Activities of the Group are reported by the séction leaders to
trustees in the Trustee and Leaders meetings that occur
throughout the year.

The Group has continued its activities. and all of the sections within
the Group (Beavers, Cubs ,Scouts and Explorers) have operaled a
planned programme of activities lo help develop young people in
accordance wilh Scouting principles

Section E
Financial review
The Group looks to use normal subscription income and fees to cover
cost of camps to meet day to day running expenses of the Group. In
addition, fund raising activity occurs, to build up funds to cover the
longer-term maintenance of the Scout Hut.

The total retained reserves of the Group are kept in an interest-
bearing bank account. The Group operates a low-risk approach to
investments, and funds are held with high street backs. While rates of
return are low on such accounts, Ihey meet the low-risk approach of
the Group and enable ready access to funds

## Responsibilities and basis of report 

As the charity trustees of the 9th Worcester (Hallow) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
