Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Through the medium of music, we empowered (at our peak) around 80 people each month at our online and in-person community music wellbeing workshops and our one-to-one sessions with social prescribing referrals. We built the confidence, mental health resilience and skills of local people in Trafford, giving them hope in a difficult period for the country. Despite the Covid-19 lockdowns and changing government regulations regarding social distancing, we designed and fulfilled Covid-19 friendly online open-mic events and, when legally allowed, encouraged Covid-19 regulation-safe community music wellbeing workshops. This helped people to develop connections, contributing to a stronger community and reducing social isolation in a period which was isolating for many. With our mandate to provide support for local adults in Trafford, we continued supporting individuals referred to us in different ways including self-referral and GP signposting as a result of a range of health difficulties particularly mental health issues and isolation. We also built the charity’s reputation as a social prescribing best practice organisation, taking part in the new Thriving Communities Learning Together programme of late 2020/early 2021. |
